i fire mine up every morning to drive to work..even though i live on base so its only four miles ha..but i drive it every weekend from san diego to LA....so i roughly put three hundred miles a weekend....BUT only five hundred miles on the new engine i dropped in it.....my last engine was only a 305 with 225,465 miles on it and the only problem i had was the damn quadraJUNK

My truck has never been a DD. 32 years old on Dec. 22, and I only have a 160,000 miles on her. Not quite yet broken in....

Re: who fires it up every single morning

150miles on new motor, Clutch, and trans bearings, t-case unknown miles out of a 76 chevy but new bearings and a twin stick conversion 10000 miles ago, same with front axel gears, bearings and all u-joints
the speedo in the truck says 998750.8 but it's not the original gauge cluster because the speedo needle was gone and the odometer did not work....

Yo! It's FRANKENTRUCK's responsibility to commute 40 miles a day when the '76 Camaro can't,...due to weather.
Both pretty much "custom Todd built":

One old Chevy, or the other, everyday.

Re: who fires it up every single morning

Mine goes thru phases when it serves as my Daily Driver. Depends on what else happens to be broke down at the time. As much as I love driving the truck, I do not like having to put miles on it (and gas in it) all the time.

It's on the road daily right now, I've got a flat to fix on the car, and have not found the motivation to work on it in the dark driveway, after getting home from work. Maybe this weekend. . . .

Re: who fires it up every single morning

My Blazer was a daily driver until it got the '83, then that was. I put one winter on the '83 and i now have a hole in each cab corner! I think I'll keep rollin the '95 Saturn until I'm done with college.

Re: who fires it up every single morning

Every day and twice on Sunday. 50 mile round trip to work and back. I put about 30k on a year on my vehicles. And now, with the Suburban, I can haul the wife, kids and all their stuff when we go on trips. I love having a DD and a tinker toy all in one package (as long as it's running, right?).

I love the look of this truck. In the first pic it looks like you are passed out on the steering wheel. If you're anything like me, it's where I have to sleep when the wife finds out how much something I bought for the truck really costs. Sick truck and cant wait to see more pics of the LS swap.
