A little update to this thread. 1/2" Tempered glass doors open 180 degrees on custom built hinges. Each door is about 40lbs.

I seriously want a custom door made for my fireplace. I bought a cookie cutter/one size fits all p.o.s. a few years ago for over $400. sure wished I knew about your skills then.
