Now that's an idea I too have contemplated. Kind of a dually look but with a narrower track width.

When all is said and done you would probably be better off buying a complete fleetside bed, narrowing it, and adding the fenders and steps.

This idea has a lot of potential... but would also be a lot of work.

I personally like the newer bed. Not more or less than the original styling it just seems to work both ways in my eyes. I think it shows good use of more readily accessable oem parts and gets that double look factor. Just remember its a bed not a major alteration - you can reverse you decision with out major mods if your style changes.
