Smallz72..those breaks DO NOT WORK...you have to relize that they are boat trailers ...yes they have a hydralic system that you can put on them but its VERY pricey and they still dont last long due to rust..they last about a year if you deal with salt water ..which thankfully I don't deal with

as far as drilling my own I thnk I;m going to pass..it looks like lots of hours to drill them out myself..it looks like alot of holes X 4 drums

Was just making a suggestion, and true they dont always work properly but if a person was able to swing the cost might be something to get by with, but I agree with you, again just a suggestion. Those brothers drums look like they might be a decent option. Keep on Truckin and have a great day!

You might want to check state laws.Here in Missouri once you have a trailer of XX length or XX weight You are Required to have trailer brakes.More than likely if that trailer has brakes on it now, It needs them.

The guys used to drill drums because disc brakes were rare or non existent. With the ability to convert your front to disc for a very reasonable price there is no reason not to.

You may take pride in being "old school" or "cheap" and that's fine when it only concerns what affects yourself.

On the other hand, you are endangering yourself and others that share the road with you by contemplating a modification to your braking system that has potential to fail.

Do us all a favor and consider converting to front discs....

Info is out there,New Hampshire.Any trailer and load exceeding 3,000 pounds must have trailer brakes.Also are required to stop within 30 feet at 20 mile an hour.

with the new Cpp spindles that narrow your wheel base I will surely go that direction just need to save some pennies....I have been on a spending spree on my truck (check my build thread) and towing with it isn't high on the list...yet..I have another truck for that.....like I said before I think this was a pipe dream after looking at the pics from the Brothers link.I hardly think that trying to do it myself is OUT..the time I spend drilling could spend at work and pay for the spindles...I'm also sure that adding the booster to my drums this spring will help alot too!!

I was going to try and use the burb parts just because I had them and the prop valve is newer.. Also the new style reservor it looks like it closes better. Other than that no reason.
I had just installed a new m/c and booster about 1 1/2 years ago and havent had any problems with the exception of the rear braes locking up and I think I've got that fixed now with help from alot of other board members. Let me know if you would like for me to keep my eyes out for a set up in the yards. If I find one that looks good I may go ahead and pull it. If anything it would be good to have for a core charge for some new parts.
