Re: Scott's Hotrods Bolt in IFS...coilover edition
That sure looks nice But this might sound like a dumb Question but what are the true beneficial factors in haveing a set up like this on our trucks? I see the way that it sits on the donor chassis looks great but what about someone with stock 72 BB Motor mounts would they have to swap them out for some other tubular ones? I like this set up without bags, I guess I will have to read up more info on it. This would sure be something I'd buy great work

Re: Scott's Hotrods Bolt in IFS...coilover edition
The main advantage is going to plain and simply be an increase is proper handling, rollcenter, ride confort. When we build these,we spend alot of time
and engineering in making sure that the suspension that goes under that vechicle is 100% correct for that particular setup.Meaning, that camber/caster gain is correct. The steering characteristics are optimal, and that it is all setup and designed to whatever ride height is finally achieved. The stock suspension (like almost all oem suspensions)are designed as a middle road/optimal ride/minimal service type of frontend. It is a truck first and foremost,so Gm did not exactly plan the suspension geometry to handle like a car.Much less a sporty car.Taking a stock suspension and simply lowering it will only achieve in lowering your cg/and upsetting what would be proper geometry for that suspension. On motor mounts for your truck,we will supply motor mounts with our bolt in ifs units. Justin Last edited by Scottshotrods; 05-21-2010 at 11:32 AM. |

How would you go about doing this? Would you just make the A-arms shorter? Or make the whole assembly narrower? |
