Re: First Ticket!!!!
i got pulled over 3 weeks after i got my license for going threw a red/yellow light and speeding. and it was 1am so it was after curfew and it was raining... the cop was really cool and i told him i was going home and he let me off but his last words as he turned to walk away were "drive safe... and nice truck by the way" haha he asked me y i didnt stop for the light and i gave him this hole big thing about no abs and i would have slid into the intersection so i paniced and floored it.. lol he bought it tho and sent me on my way

Re: First Ticket!!!!
I think that seat belt tickets are ridiculous. Who are you hurting? No one but yourself. Government intrusion at its best. Every chance I get I drive my antique cars so I don't have to worry about the government protecting me from myself. Here in NYC they are trying to pass a sugar tax on soda!!! End of Rant!

Re: First Ticket!!!!
My first was for cruising. The turn around spot for the local cruise was the car wash, I got picked up leaving the car wash for cruising and I actually was just finishing washing my truck. The ticket got knocked down to loitering so there were no points on the driving record... crazy

Re: First Ticket!!!!
My first was over 45 years ago. I'd guess it was probably for speeding, don't remember for sure.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
My first ticket was a 42 in a 30. I grew up in a relatively small town, and my Grandma was a county commissioner for years. One of the traffic judges lived right behind her, and guess who's court I ended up in. Between the two of them, they scared me pretty good (but not good enough, I guess). I just found out that's better not to get caught.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
My first ticket of several over the years was for speeding 72 on 55 when I was 15 coming home from my first ever real "DATE" and I had a curfew of midnight and it was like 1:30 a.m. let's just say that the ticket was well worth it.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
I have gotten several warnings but not a real ticket yet. I work weird hours and get pulled over often. I think they are looking for drunk drivers. The best one was a month ago when I was back home and drove my blazer for the first time in 6 months. I took it around the block and got pulled over with in eyesight of my mom's house, for speeding. My speedo is at least 7mph off. I had expired plates, out of date insurance card and an expired pink slip. The cop was nice enough to let me go with a warning.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
First one I got was in my '84 Trans Am heading through town (pop ~4000) on my way to college, cars parked along the road, saw a cop at the intersection on the left. Natural instinct is to check you speed and pay attention to him, well I didn't see the kids standing at the crosswalk on the right side as they were blocked by a car. Got a ticket for not stopping at the intersection, it was bogus, should have fought it but I didn't.
Second and third were both for speeding, 62 in a 50 in my Trans Am in '04 or '05. Then 103 in a 75 in my Cobalt 2 years ago while I was talking to my mom on my OnStar, that went over well. Been pulled over a few other times but no other tickets yet.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
Ah...first ticket. Was in high school driving to work in a REAL VW Beetle (engine in the back where it belongs on those). Cop stops me and asks if I know how fastI was going. Said "When I saw you I looked down and it said 40 (in a 30). He said "That's what my radar said." I said "At least I know my speedometer is accurate." Then he handed me the ticket.
The best one I got out of...was during or just after getting out of college and I was taking my mom's car in for something. When the cop stopped me he asked if I knew how fast I was going. Considering I was now about 5 blocks from where he clocked me, I had no idea. He said I was going 45 in a 35. I said I didn't know how fast I was going, it wasn't my car. He asked what that had to do with it. I said, looking straight into his face, "Does your personal car feel like its going the same speed as your patrol car?" He looked me straight in the face and said, "Keep it down." Away I went.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
I can't comment on my first - too long ago, but my most memorable was with my buddy in NY. He was given an old Chevy c10 and the story was if you can move it you can have it. The engine ran great, but transmission was shot. So one late night we pushed it from where it sat to my girlfriends dads shop about 10 miles away. Cop rolled up and asked what we were doing and we explained, he let us go and said to keep it safe.
Girlfriend's dad replaced the auto transmission with a manual he had laying around. So we then wanted to get it from there to my house about 20 miles away. The truck was not registered, insured, inspected or anything else to make it legal. So we "borrowed" other one of my friend’s plates. Well we eventually got pulled over and I received 7 tickets. Then taken to jail for processing. Then when leaving threw my cigarette butt out the window and got pulled over again for littering. Very bad day. Sure do miss being young and stupid some days.

Speeding. Doing 45 in 30 zone through a school zone! Best part was, I never knew it as no police pulled me over...I got a fine in the mail with a picture of my car and the speed/date attached! Busted by photo radar.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
I just got pulled over last week. Beautiful summer day, long straight country two lane, just fields and cows. Thought I would let some of them 315 horses run for a while, so I kicked it up to 90 MPH. Then I thought, maybe this isn't such a good idea, so I let off, and let it wind its way back to the posted speed of 50 MPH. As I slowed down, I see way off in the distance a car coming, just a speck and as it got closer, I see it's a black-and-tan marked Md. state pooper. As I passed him he pulled over, so I did too as he made a u-turn. He didn't even have his lights on until he pulled in behind me. He said he had me doing 64 in a 50 on moving radar. I didn't give him any BS, just license, registration. I got lucky, with a warning. No tickets in the last 20 years helps too, as they check your record when they are sitting there behind you. If you get that first ticket in a long time, go to court and kiss every a$$ in sight to get PBJ or a no moving violation conviction, because with one strike against you, the second is a lock. Oh, by the way, if you gave the cop a ration of s#**, forget it, you're toast.

Re: First Ticket!!!!
first ticket was for parking on the side of I-10 to sleep. I thought it was a good idea because i was to tired to be driving. cop didn't think so. got the ticket and asked what the reasoning behind it was he said " don't want any other cars to smash into me and hurt themselves as well as throw me into the ditch. i said thank you and he started to walk to his car. i drive straight into the ditch and turned the truck off.(when your to tired to drive your just to tired to drive). he thought it was funny but i still had to pay the ticket.
