Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

looks good just like the flowtechs on bottom or the cheapo summit ones since they point downward somewhat. The top flange is as thick as the ones I got on my 88. Only problem I can see is they are oval or round and the heads being square looks like the stick out up top but as long as they can see a little lower should be no worries at all. I think the ones on my 88 are the same way and are round and the head port square and mine seal just fine.

Be warned they wil ldiscolor first time you drive it. Mines some tubes are blueish others are more amber like. Not a problem though IMO.

The headers did not blue that much. Here are a few pictures of them that I took this morning after having them on the truck for a few thousand miles.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

hmmm.....I was going to save up for some ceramic coated but these don't seem all that bad and are WAY cheaper.....from the pictures above (from burger) they don't look like they discolor all that bad (and it's not like I'm going to be showing my truck or anything) so would these just be the better (and cheaper) way to go?

They look pretty good. So are they indeed stainless or are they chrome plated?

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

I just ordered some from a different ebay vendor for $140. They look like the same headers. Stainless steel and the same size. I will post again when I get them and after installed.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

They are a cheaper and better way to go then ceramic. As for discolor yours didn;t blue they turned the goldish amber like color. Mine did that too but some of them is blue on mine.

Still...even with the more discoloring it doesn't look bad at all IMO....kinda adds that "custom character" look don'tcha think?

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

yea the discoloration on mine doesn't bother me, just wanted ppl to know they don't stay like they come all the time. As for mine sorry no help, mine are on the newer body style and shorties. As for the other ones you can see they hang below his frame some but not alot.

They hang kind of low.... Take a look the picture that shows where the collector exits. They hang about 2" below the frame. Crawl under your truck with a tape measure to see if you think it would be an issue.

If you want to slam your truck, I think you should use the Chevelle headers that have been used with the Porterbuilt setups.

Re: Has Anyone Tried the $158 eBay Stainless Steel Headers?

Here's a link to the chevelle header thread in the suspension forum "bagged truck headers". I have been looking at these for a couple of days now for my truck. It is very low now but I'm thinking of bagging it later.

If your headers are turning blue, your engine is out of tune.
