Well, OK, so it's not a camper. But it is old and cool.

Re: Anyone pull a vintage camper with their truck?

I just ran across these older pictures. The truck and trailer belong to a former business partner. He put a lot of work into restoring the trailer:

Re: Anyone pull a vintage camper with their truck?

This thread has got me all fired up!!!!! All the pictures here are bad a$$!!!!! You guys are ahead of your time! I've seen more rigs like these showing up at our local shows, and they always draw a crowd. I have been toying with pulling my 1927 ford roadster behind my 65 C10 shortbox stepside. The rig will match with a 1960's theme. Thanks for warming me up on a cold snowy day

Back in the mid 50’s when I was pretty young there was a Chris Craft store in downtown San Leandro with several of these wooden masterpieces in the showroom window. I didn’t know anything about boats, but was very impressed they looked like very expensive artwork with all the polished wood and shiny fittings. The store subsequently became a hobby shop and that was the last time I ever saw a new Chris Craft until viewing restored models decades later. They really were floating works of art.

Its flashing over with rust in that pic because we drove 150 miles in a rain strom. We'd jus scuff it with scotchbrite pads to remove the flash..
The current owners DA'd it clean and cleared it.
I spent 8mos building it, and then sold it 6mos later because they were closing our plant and I was soon to be jobless..

So it looks good now and wont flash over. They did good.

I am friggin' dying to get a pre-'64 trailer! Nothing big though, just about the same size as most of your guys'.

Re: Anyone pull a vintage camper with their truck?

Not a vintage trailer and I didn't do it to long because the trailer was heeaaaavvvy. 1200 pound tongue weight was a little much for a 1/2 ton.
