Re: Brazilian c-10

I like the 2 piece rear bumpers.
They are kinda a mix of all the years, 60's grill with 72 body lines.
I knew you would find a green one. Lol

http://www.ooyyo.com/used-cars/chevrolet-c+10/brazil

Looks like they sell for around $10-15k US dollars.

20,000.00 BRL = $11,339.16 USD

They made that body style for about 20 years so there should be plenty of them around in the junk yards to get tail gates from.

There is also the version of the Suburban called the Varaneio.

Re: Brazilian c-10

This C10 model was produced only in Brazil.
There are 3 types of the front end.

1964 to 1969 (the model was called C14 - short bed and C15 - long bed):

Some units has the front end from de 70-77 (was a basic version).

1970 to 1977:

1977 to 1984:

In 1977 two new models were introduced:
A10 (ethanol) and D10 (diesel).

I'm preparing a post with my truck, very soon will post.

If you want, I can check how much is the shipping to send the front end to the USA. Here in Brazil, just the grid (thats the name?) costs around U$ 150/250 (used in good condition).

The C10 here in Brazil are differente from the american C10. Some parts are the same (like the tail light from american 60-66' fletside, steering wheel from older trucks, 54' I guess).

We took something old in the U.S. (from older models) and use here ... Unfortunate ...
My dream its a 72' american Cheyenne C10. Who knows...

The engine on the C10 here was called Chevrolet Brasil.
It's a six in line, 261 pol³. Very similar to the 216/235 engine. Some parts are the same! I think the head is different.

Sorry for my poor English, I'm working on it!

Junior.

I worked with an old GMC truck engineer that retired a few years ago but was very involved with Brazilian pickups and medium duty trucks back in the 80’s. He mentioned the Brazilian square body style trucks and Suburban equivalents had body stampings to resemble the US Spec Chevy S10. Unfortunately, I also think they did a better job of making it look like a US spec Ford F-series than a GM S10 but if you squint real hard you can see S10 resemblance.

If you go to Ebay Brazil and search by Chevrolet you can see all kinds of trucks that are odd looking compared to the Chevrolet trucks we are accustom to.

Basically, here in Brazil we have the following models of GM trucks (older to new, produced here):

Chevrolet Marta Rocha

Chevrolet Brasil

Chevrolet Amazona

Chevrolet A10/C10/D10/Veraneio

Chevrolet A10/C10/D10/Veraneio (2nd generation)

Chevrolet A20/C20/D20

Chevrolet Bonanza (D20 mod)

Chevrolet Brasinca (D20 mod)

Chevrolet S10/Blazer (sales this days)

Chevrolet Silverado

Chevrolet Captiva (sales this days)

Others are imported.
