So, I have the flat style coils, not the round ones. What is the MSD part number for the ones I should get?

I am Herron.
I have had the headers the same price for a long time, they are $535 on the website but have had a thread on here for a while with $475 paid with MO or $500 if you PP me directly. It may not be the best way but it lets me know where my advertising $s are being best used. at $475 I clear about $7max before overhead expenses (advertising is the only real overhead I have).

Hey guys. I have already sent Lokar a p/s header and they will be making a special dipstick just for us. I can't remember how I initially came up with the lokar number but I have already revised the instructions so there is no more misinformation. Sorry about that guys

Shon,The mtrs. w/ truck wires look like the wires are pulled a little tight & I like spiro pros for the boot end,It's smaller & vulcanized to the wire

Will Lokar swap out new dipstick with the guys that bought the other one?

^ Possibly Rob. I suppose if it's new in the package they will not have an issue. I can't speak for them directly though. It would also depend on where you purchased it. If you bought it from a distributor, you would of course go back through them.

Ya? I'd like to swap mine for one that fits better for the application. Especially since I started the thread. Thanks Jamie, for sending Lokar some test equipment.

I was going to go with the MSD 32819 wires. Will those work with this type of coil?

The coils look similar to mine and that's the part number I used.

I think that even though the coil design is different any LS wire will fit.

I'm just talking about the oil dipstick, that's all I have used so far. For a throttle cable I used the stock GM for the 2001 Chevy donor motor.

I just spoke with John Impy at Lokar and he is sending me a newly designed oil dipstick tube that will go just behind the #2 spark plug and in between the exhaust tubes. Very reasonable and knowledgeable guy. I will post pics after I have it installed. Also, thanks to Hart Rod for persuing this as well.

Stock trans dipstick works fine. I have a 4L65. Lokar engine oil dipstick doesn't work with DT headers.

Can you get us the contact info, so we can get one of those special dipsticks as well?

After some final fit and testing, we will post a correct part number.

Re: Doug Thorley 324y and Lokar ed-5008

The Lokar ED-5008 Is for an LS-1/LS-6 Aluminum block motor. That is what the R&D was done on. The 4.8,5.3,&6.0 we are currently doing the R&D on. The guaging is different. As soon as the rest of the dipsticke arrive from GM we will have a new part number. This will be a standard part number. As soon as we complete this task I will get it posted here. For further information please contact Lokar Performance Products Tech Department At 1-877-469-7440 Thank you

Here's a pic of the newly engineered Lokar engine oil dipstick tube that I received from John @ Lokar last week. The test fit is great and so I permanently mounted it in this location. I believe they will be going into full production soon. Thanks John!! He should be chiming in and give the full details soon.
