Re: Build of my 72 C/20
I believe your right, my Dad put the C/20 emblems on there and until I got on here I didn't know if they were right or wrong, guess I still don't to be honest. I'd like to find some thirty emblems for it when the time comes to redo the body.

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
The main peace of angle iron is 5/16 the rest of it I cut out of 3/16 plate. Probably should of just bought them, have about six hours altogether fabbing them up. There will be more pics of it when I get everything fully assembled.

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
I want one really bad but the full set up is kinda expensive and I don't want a crappie one, I want to scare the poo out of people when they cut me off.

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
Progress report.
I drilled and bolted up the other flip bracket today and started mocking everything up. I'm going to put everything together to see how far back the axle needs to go and see how the height of the rebuilt springs is going to look so I can adjust them. Hopefully pics tomorrow if the weather holds out.

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
Here's a couple pics of yesterdays progress. Mocked everything up, figured out that I need to add more leafs to the rear and the axle needs to go back an inch and a half. The rear is way to soft right now so I'm going to add two more leafs per side.
I started my new job at the scrap yard today so time to work on the truck is going to be cut back but there will be more of a budget to get new parts. Plus the stuff I drag home from work. No its not the light, the front is a litter shade than the bed. Ah its close enough they won't notice, hahaha!!

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
Update, I made some zero rate blocks to move the rear end back an inch and a half and it looks grate. I have to get the drivers side leafs put back together and installed so I can set it down an see how she sits. Hopefully next week the front leafs can go back to the shop to get tweaked so the front axle will be right, its sitting to far back and the shackles hit my step mounts.
I'm going to pick up some square tubing to make new mud flap mounts for the rear, broke mine taking them off.

Re: Build of my 72 C/20
Still waiting to get all new bushings for the rear and grade eight bolts for everything. I'm not happy with the way the rear shackles are sitting so I mite try to get some different springs.
I'm going to try to get the rear put together so I can take the front back apart next week, then I'm going to start working on my crossover steering. Now that I'm thinking about it theirs still a lot left to do. Crossover New power steering lines Rebuild 2wd steering box New shocks New cross member in rear for air bags Air bags & lines Headers & exhaust Replace motor mounts, yeah it brakes them Make spacers for motor mounts. And so on.
