Well Day 1 of wiring is done well it was only 4 hours long. Its almost done just have to solder the pigtails on the wires and its will be on the road again and wait for the rest of the wire loom to get here for the front.

Re: My 1966 C10 truck (lots of pics)

end of day 2 on the wiring, I hate it even more lol. almost put in a full 7 hours. having issue with getting power to the tail lights ( most likely due to the headlights not being hooked up and grounded) but not sure. the truck turns over havent started it ,took off the plug wires and replace them with MSD ones they need to be fitted still, so the wires to the starter are right. the turn signals dont work either you and hear the unit keep flashing even when there not on.

Got the gauge panel semi wired up just have to hook up switched power and run or use wires on the harness for the gauge sensors.

does anyone in az installed a painless harness in a 66 truck? If so wanna give me some tips or help me out?

Painless needs to add a reverse light wire to the harness!

I have pics ill add in a few days just too lazy

bad a** gauges dude. if theyre the dolphin ones im thinking of, you paid a pretty penny, if not they still look it. cant help on the engine kill issue. I would start with the key switch and its electrics, it obviously still making a contact somwhere. good luck...im in east mesa we should cruise someday.

The ignition switch was wired up by painless so unless the made a mistake on the wiring they should all be right. So the only thing I could think of is the wiring to the starter could be wrong or with the wiring to the coil could be wrong pretty much the only thing with really messed with.

You need a diode in the alternator wire. It should be in your instructions. You can get the diode at Radio shack.

Glad it worked for you. When mine did it, I had a serious WTF moment. When I looked at the instructions, it was open to that page.

Took it for a drive to and calibrated the speedo, found a new problem with the speedo when we turn on the lights it doesnt work. lol. So tomorrow mission is to slove that and find a gas tank. We bought the blazer gas tank and sits to low for us. Starting to love the truck even more now.

So we decided not to install the blazer tank so were gonna sell it or trade it. If anyone wants to buy the tank or trade for some parts please let me know.

There's was no mods to th firewall, And as far as the stock I wouldnt use it. Its covering about 80% of the rad. We are gonna get a new rad and electric fan/s. Its a short non ac one.

Here a pic of the roll pan we installed today

Pic of the engine. Yes the plug wires will be shorten soon
