Re: Show some Pic's of Turquoise/teal green Chevy

Here's a pics of my '69 3/4 ton. The truck was re-painted in '96 with the best match to original color.
I have a question. Does anyone know if the stock steering wheel would have been the dark blue shown in the second picture? I'm planning to replace it but can't find a one that matches the dark green of the column.

jocular, that is one fine looking GMC you have there. Here is an interior shot of that survivior GMC that I posted above in post #31, that OE wheel was olive in color and I think you will have a real tough time locating one in that color used in good shape yet, and I am fairly sure it's not available repro. There is one p/n listed for a turquoise steering wheel in the old GMC truck master parts book, it is listed as just "69 Turquoise" and the other shade of light green as shown in that 70 GMC is listed as "70 Olive". The second and third pictures show the shade of green 69-72 type wheel that is readily available in the repro/aftermarket world, I had this same shade of dark green paint mixed/tinted so the tilt would match the repro wheel in color, all OE truck tilts were originally black w/black steering wheels. Re: Show some Pic's of Turquoise/teal green Chevy

Thanks for the info.
I'll keep looking for a dark green steering wheel. I figure the existing wheel is the original. It's interesting that the vehicle would come out of the factory with the miss match.
Here's another picture that shows the original paint color on the firewall.

Yea this is not my first color of choice but I plan on keeping my truck the original 503 and just touch up the spots that got rusty. I want to keep it OG. A lot of my friends say I should change it to black or something..But they also don't know jack about trucks like they swear they do. Keep it that color cause Original only happens once.

Here is 1968 and these are the 50th. colors. I think you refer back to 1967 for the others offered in 1968.

We just had a small meet in Upland a few weeks ago, and after getting my arm twisted, I decieded to keep the green. That and looking at the Big Kahunna's 503 green truck. Very nice.
