Haven't done much lately. Either too windy, or no time. I did decide to keep the top white. Sanded and painted the driver side door. May JB-weld a backer plate behind the original mirror bracket holes and smooth over with bondo. I had started really digging into smoothing and sanding, and all that, but it's just a truck with a rattle-can paintjob, so from here on out, it's going to be sanding to rough up the surface and paint. Brush scratches will touched up with a can from Ace Hardware.

Picked this up off craigslist. Going to grind a little on the back corners and paint it. Allready have a tool box for it. Roll on bed liner soon.

Been sick all week, and haven't felt like doing anything. Finally perked up a little this afternoon. Sanded and painted a fender. Yee-haw.

You know, I really liked the flat bed, and if it had been easier to bolt on, I'd have done it. But 8 bolts and some primer was too easy too pass up for $150. I should have taken some before photos of that front bumper, it was terrible, and was given to me as an after-thought. It's so much better. I didn't even think it would come out that decent.

looks good i like the tall skinny tires to looks cool have you ever thought about steel rims and original caps? i have 3/4 ton hub caps for 67 , only three, they dont have holes for the hubs in the front though you would need to cut it...

That's exactly what I'm going to do. Going later this week to pick up 8 factory steel rims. Hub caps seem to be hard to find and expensive for 3/4 tons. Unless a set falls in my lap, I'll just run the steelies and trying to find some 285/75/16's.

Ok.....so some progress. Not buch, but some. Sanded and painted the pass. side door, pillar and finished up the rear of the cab, so th rack and tool box can get bolted on.
Yes, I paint at night a lot. The wind is still, and my mistakes don't bother me untill i see the photos. I'll fix them one day when the wind is down, and the sun is up.

And , I mentioned steel rims. Just picked up 8, 8 lug steel rims, all with tires. A couple 305 somethings, 2 285/75/16, and 4 265/75/16's. They are a little crusty, but brushed some ospho on them, and plan on using the 265/75/16's, they all hold air. Actually, the others do too, but I have all 4 the same size, and a spare from the PO, so that should work. Here's some dark pics of the steelies.
Going to use what I need, then craigslist the rest.

i dont think thats true i like the rims and truck only thing i could think that truck could want? need is a 327 and a cst horn cap but you plan on workin it right? so maybe you dont wanna put the chromy blingy horn cap on and since its a 3/4 ton 4wd you would want to save gas by keepin the engine it has right now right? it does have a inline 6 in it right?

Has a rebuilt 350 4 bolt from a 75 burb, factory 4 barrel intake and quadrajet.

It is ready for work. Just can't seem to get ahead money wise. I need to do the title, registration, plates, and taxes, which means insurance and inspection. It's only money, I just don't happen to have any. Soon, I hope.

Sanded grill trim......took it off....sanded some more.....everything else got some Ace primer red, after sanding. Me likey.

Forgot the bowtie. Wishing for one that had more red in it, but I'll put it on today. I got in a hurry to get it back together, and kind of smudged the white in a spot or two. I'll get a daylight photo today after the bowtie is back on.
