Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Wow! That motor alone had to run you in the $15k-$20k range at least! Any eta on when the truck will be "done"?

Here is the main frame that goes under the cab. I'm very pleased with the outcome.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
This will be a fantastic truck!
Here's the only yellow truck pic I have along the same lines as your rendering, but your yellow will look more intense (& better) I think.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Well I got the call from Baer brakes today saying my brakes were finished. Here is a picture of the calipers and hats. When they get to Nate he's going to get me a picture with the set up behind the wheel.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
So basically I'm guessing they cut the floor clear out of the cab and then set the cab over this portion of the frame so you can lay as low as you can and have all the drive line flush with the bottom? Pretty sweet!

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Correct, now the limiting factor is the front tires almost hitting the hood.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Nice. You could always have them build one of those HD style hoods some square body guys have been doing lately. It could net you 1-2" or so.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
You're already cutting a floor out of a cab, why stop there? I don't blame you though because I really don't care for the look of the HD hood on a square either.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Cool project, One suggestion though, you should swap out those 26s for some 24s. I think a 405/25/24 out back would be a little better seeing how the motor you picked up makes so much power.. That 275 just isnt enough.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
Pardon me for being snoopy (no pun intended), but why are you using a bunch of NOS parts? Why not let someone restoring a truck to original have those and you get aftermarket parts?

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
This truck is going to be a full custom show truck. Aftermarket parts will not fit the way I want them to so that's the reason for the NOS parts being used.

Got an update from Nate today that my brakes from Baer showed up. He said it felt like it was Christmas at the shop.

Re: 86 crew cab "Full Frame" build
:-/ Seems like with all the custom work being done making aftermarket fit wouldn't be a problem. Guess I'm just a sucker for original, I hate seeing nice 60's era cars chopped and caged as drag cars.
