Re: Aluminum rads! Who's got em and wants to show em off??

I,m using a C&R double bypass . I bought it from a guy that had it in a 65 C10 blown big block it didn,t do the job for him. I think it will work out for me.

So after looking at all these i need a new radiator in my 66. im still a little ways from that point but so i know when i get there, champion aluminum is the way to go for a stock 250? Not looking for fancy, just functional.

Yes, I think the Champion is a good way to go fir what you have, and they have a good price also.

Thanks TR, I'll be using a 5.3 for now and eventually build a LS2 for it. Also using a T56 so I won't need the trans cooler. Sounds like a perfect fit.

I'm going with the champion as well with the electric fan. Do I still need to put the two metal braces and seals on the sides which I think are for the shroud to mount to? Or will it sitting in the cradles and the top mount be sufficient?

It will sit there fine, I put the sides on to ensure the air goes through the rad and not around it.

Yes, agreed.... you will definitely want to channel all air possible through the radiator. Any gaps around it, you will want to put a filler panel of some sort, to force the air to go through the radiator.

Hey willyp nice truck by the way but can you get some better close up pics of how the shroud mounted to the radiator I ordered 2 of them for different trucks and there is no holes in the end of the radiator channel to bolt thru the holes are in the shroud and also did you just drill holes in the shroud and bolt on your fan? I also ordered the 4 rows but they are the same on the ends as yours

trav, just drill your own holes to attach the fan to the shroud with small nuts, bolts and washers and the shroud to the radiator. i would also use sheet metal screws to attach the shroud to the radiator incase you have leaks, the shoud and fan will come out quick as one piece. im outta town for the weekend so ill post pics monday.
