Re: 1960 k-20
Id say use some wheels and tires from a newer chevy 2500-3500 in the 2000-2012 range!

Re: 1960 k-20
Glad to see some new updated photos of your truck. Would like to see a bunch more. You need to take it out more often and snap more pictures. Also would like to see it with new wheels or hub caps.

Re: 1960 k-20
That is one bad to the bone tough lookin truck! I vote for same wheels and maybe hubcaps! Thats the kind of look im trying to do on my 72, tall, skinny, knobby bias tires with stock rims. I LOVE the stock look! Sweet rig!

Re: 1960 k-20
Good looking truck but i think the k-20all look good. Ithink the original tires wheels would look good on your truck as well. MY 62K-20 IS BLUE AND WHITE, DO you have a v-8 or 6 cylinder?

Re: 1960 k-20
I have a 235 in mine with the sm 420 behind it. Pretty much stock, supposedly was a fire truck in the beginning of its life. Right now it has 9.00-16 Gateway tires that are at least 20 years old. I would really like to get the original ( I think 17") wheels, but they seem hard to come by. I have a set of stock 16" steel wheels that I have painted black and want to go with 7.50-16's. There is an aggressive tread tire out there by Deestone that looks good to me. Also, Cooper makes a radial in that size but it has more of a street tread. May also consider a used set of 235-85-16's if the price was right.
Thanks for the input, and good luck with your trucks. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 1960 k-20
Alright I'm droolin! I like the wheel / tire combo that you have on it right now. I think that the only thing that I could even imagine on our trucks might be a set of Welds but even that's too new for me. Your truck is getting my vote.

Re: 1960 k-20
j.kirn--heres a pic of my 61 as it sits now. going to rebuild ft fenders (will attempt) we will see. my tk was all green then red with white top. did they paint the whole cab green and then white over the green at the factory? as mine has green under the white. just love your truck! great work.

Re: 1960 k-20
j.kirn,
I love your pickup! It is the one of the main "inspiration" trucks for my 66 K10 build. I really like the stock-ish look of your pickup. I wouldn't change the wheels/tires unless you plan on driving it a lot at higher speeds. What size are your wheels/tires now? I will probably go with a radial tire on my truck because it will see a lot of socal highway. Thinking of a 33x10.5R15 or a 285/75R16 depending on what rim diameter I end up with. Most likely an 8" wide rim. Not sure on offset yet, might keep the offset similar to stock, or keep the backspacing similar to stock for a wider stance.
