Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
Unless she is really good looking, I don't plan on letting any woman shape my views on my cars. I drive my truck by choice. Sure I can get a newer car with a touche screen radio and A/C that actually works but wheres the fun in that. Plus that bench seat can really come in handy some times

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
I was looking for another toy to play around with, contemplating everything from a new challenger to an older supercharged riviera.
My girl told me I should get another old truck. Enough said. Southern girls are used to, and do like, trucks. Might be you need a change of scenery |

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My wife still tells the story of seeing me in a store and then outside in my truck. When she saw me get in that big 72 one ton Blazer it sealed the deal. When I wrecked it she insisted I build another one. So I bought my buddy's 70 swb p/u and swapping everything over. OH and she was a little scared at first but shorty stomped on it in the rain and those 36's started spinning and some guy looked at her kinda funny, she can't wait to do that again!!

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
Women hate my truck. They think its old and stupid. lol
They arnt impressed unless its got leather and a TV in the dash. If I was trying to impress the chicks, I would buy a Mercedes. I like my truck and thats all that matters. |

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My wife would rather drive my 71 K10 swb than my 97 GMC.The only thing she doesn't like about it is the Ochre color. As we all know, that color is either loved or hated. As long as we are happy with our trucks, thats all that matters. Materialistic women need to be avoided at all costs. I have regretted selling a few trucks I have had because of my ex wifes distaste for old things. The new wife, (married 19 years now) loves all my toys. You'll find a keeper one day that enjoys your truck.

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My 20 year old daughter doesn't like my truck at all.. She says that it's not old enough. Get that a lot. People ask all the time " what year is that". I think they are shocked when I tell them 84. They think it's much older...
My wife uses it to get what she wants.."take me to the store, in the truck".lol.. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My wife doesn't like my truck, that said, she does see the need for it. (her TB stinks when I have to lug trash to the dump)
I told her years ago that I couldn't justify truck payments of x00 a month for something I'm just going to use like a truck. My wife went to the local lumber yard with me, we were in her old S-10 as I didn't have much to get. Someone was in the store getting a couple yards of gravel, wanted it in his truck. We hung around for a few. Watched loader pull up to the truck, (owner did know the risks, explained by the salesman) 1/2-3/4 yard, truck was squatted heavily, owner told operator, keep going. just past the yard mark, something "popped". Needless to say, they stopped, we left before the wrecker got there. Wife couldn't believe it, even less when I mentioned he probably just mailed the truck payment also. At the time I was running my '73, mainly just for plowing the driveway and other "projects".

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
I was talking about selling the '87 to fund another project and the wife told me no pretty harshly. She thinks we need to collect pickups. Who am I to disagree? You need to hang out with different girls.

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My wife loves our old squares as much as I do.She would rather drive the old '80 3/4 ton 2wd before her 2008 jeep patriot. She really likes the fact it's a 4 speed too!! This is just my opinion, but if she is too good for your square, maybe you should look at a less materialistic girl!!! Good luck!!

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
my wife likes the trucks. you should see the crazy rubbernecking that happens when i take the doors and top off my M715 and she drives it. i watched a cop almost drive off the road once because of the neck snapping double take.
she LOVED my 72 SWB 4x4. i still get alot of crap for selling that one. she sits in the garage with me when i work on the K20 and generally never says anything when i tell her i am buying _______ and it costs $XXXX Ryan |

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
My wife actually likes the 77 and the 79 I used to have. One thing she likes is the ability to actually see out of the vehicle. I own a couple of classic cars and she hates driving those but will hop in and drive the truck with no problems.

Re: Do the ladies like the truck?
The square is my only judge of character now! If they like the truck, good to go. If not, likely to be problems. Amusingly enough, I think the only reason I have the burb is the guy was henpecked into trading it off. He's now single less than 6 months later, so you see what happened there! lol
