I would never make any cover to for someone attempt to wrap for themselves. A lot of people ask me that, but if you have no experience or never do this sort of stuff, chances are youll end up ruining the cover. This style dash is pretty tough to wrap, its not as simple as just installing it. People tend to underestimate how tough this sort of stuff really is.

Youd also need the right type of adhesive, I dont use spray can stuff, I buy adhesive in gallons and spray it out of a gun. The stuff I use is super strong and doesnt fail like spray can adhesive, especially on dashes where it sees a lot of heat.

I can definitely understand that and I don't trust the stuff in a can either, but I am better at this kind of thing than you would think.

Hey I like the look of your door panels in your Ford. Do you think you can do that design in the Chev crew cab doors ? Maybe the fronts swoop up and the rears swoop down???? Would you need the door panels if you do a complete custom door panel?

Id need your panels. Its near impossible to try and make one off panels with the truck not right in front of me. I can pretty much only work off of stock panels to guarantee that it would all fit right and work out.

Its kind of hard to tell what I could and couldnt do until I had the panels. Basically whatever pictures you could find of stuff you like would help, and then Ill see what I could do when I get them.

wow the dash looks awesome. That looks exactly what mine used to look like, and what I want it to look like again. What would that run me. Just standard black identical to the one in the pic.

I do a lot of stuff for Canada guys, so shippings not that big of a deal. Ive done dash pads, doors even whole dashes. Shipping cost usually runs a little bit extra. For the return shipping I mark the package as a gift and put the value at like $20. Sometimes with it being marked as a gift customs wont charge fees to you, if they do charge fees something with a low value shouldnt be much. Overall never had a problem shipping to Canada.

Heres what Ive found with shipping costs. Youll need to find a box as close as possible to the dimensions of the dash pad. Square body dash pads are right on the edge of being a very large package for USPS. So if you keep the dimensions in the large package range shipping is usually around $30-$40 with insurance. Not too bad of a price for the size. Total shipping costs after the return shipping will end up $60-$80. I try to keep my prices a little lower to help out with the added cost.


If you pack it and the dimensions end up being very large package youll have to pay some crazy price of like $100 each way. So make sure to pack it in the large package range and your good.

Anyone from Canada will probably have a little bit higher prices. Use the USPS shipping calculator on their website to estimate costs and find out if the prices would work for you.

I want to have a dash pad made with the following specs:

1. It has to be for the 78 model year
2. I want the front of the pad facing the passengers to be flat instead of rounded
3. In place of the left ac vent I want a place for a double din head unit
4. The right ac vent should be in place
5. French seam
6. Black leather
7. I'm not sure about a trim piece as I know the dimensions of the area will be different given the other changes.

Can you do this work? If so can I get an estimate?

Yes I could do that, but usually stuff thats shipped to me requiring a lot of work with fitment issues I dont do. Because I wouldnt want to have you paying for something that doesnt end up fitting.

Because of the issue with lining up cutouts for your headunit Id probably need you to do all that work. I could probably get the trim to work, the vents mount to the trim so Im not sure what youd do if you deleted the trim.

not sure what you mean by making the passenger side flat. Are you talking about the bottom part that angles down. If so, making that flat would be kind of hard. Id have to build it out, but theres mounting screws along that bottom section and once you build the bottom section out then you have to work on smoothing it into that notch that sticks out on the passenger side edge. So unless I had the truck and could constantly check my fitments I wouldnt be able to do that.

If you wanted to do all the fitment work with your headunit, cut the hole out, and then I upholster the pad I can do that. But anything more than that I dont feel comftorable doing on something shipped to me. Ill pm you prices.

Oh I was talking about making the whole front surface flat instead of rounded basically making the part that the trim piece goes on taller so that the double din head unit can have a flat surface to mount to.

Gotcha. So your reffering to smoothing the recessed area for the trim piece. Wasnt sure what you meant. That could be done. It would have to be if you want the head unit in there.

So how are you mounting he head unit. Sleeve or mounts screwed into the side of it? It sounds like you want to use the sleeve and mount that to the dash pad.

I was thinking you were going to to mout the head unit to the actual dash and then install the dash pad. That would give a recessed look.

Either way would work, and I would be able to do either way.

Yea I want it mounted using a sleve to the dash pad. We can take this to ims since no one else probably cares about this haha. I could probably work with a local installer to get the radio setup and the dash cut but I'm not sure how to do the cuts since the vertical area will have to be added to. Give it some thought and pm me with what you think I'd need to do. Thanks!
