Steve, one other thing not mentioned in the 6066GMC link describing the conversion, is the enlarging of the intake opening. You may have noticed the difference in the openings themselves.

Honestly don't know if it's really required or if there is a performance improvement, but matching them seemed the thing to do. Others on the Jolly site had mentioned it as well.

I used transdapt. I never heard my engine run yet so I won't know the difference between the two

Sorry to barge in your thread but I have a couple of questions regaurding the holley swap. I found a holley carb 350 cfm 7448 with manual chocke at a swap meet for 20 dollars and installed it on my 63 305. Found it needed to be rebuilt was leaking. and factory choke cable was not long enough to hook up.

Question 1. What is a known good part number for a rebuild kit that one can source local i.e. napa carquest autozone orielys? They always want a car year and cant seem to find it by the list # . I would like to avoid shipping from a online source.

Question 2. i want to keep the factory choke knob. are the repop cables longer or how do you remove the knob without breaking it to swap to a aftermarket cable ?

Q 1: Here is the NAPA part number for the Holley 2300 overhaul kit
CRB 25163

Q 2: I don't believe the factory cable is long enough and you have to use another one; which I purchased from Autozone. I don't think you can switch the knobs either without destroying it, but perhaps someone else here has done it.
