Re: Does your truck have a name?
This is Elbert, my 66. My dad bought the truck from the original owner, Elbert, 11 years ago when I was in college, and that was the name from day one.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
I ended up naming mine "Maggie" after my mom (Margaret). When I got the truck I was looking for some floor mats and found a brand new set of "The Simpsons" floor mats in the closet my wife bought for my son when he was 16. He never used them although he was a huge fan of The Simpsons.
So I used them since little "Maggie Simpson" is at the top of the mat and the orange in the mat was a good match to the color of the truck. It seem to be a good fit. The strange things we do.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
That's awesome. My red Toyota was named "Santas Helper" after I spent a day running food and toys for the Elks Lodge when they couldn't due to the snow one Christmas. There was a news report that morning asking for any 4x4's in the area to help, so I jumped in. I had a blast that day and the turnout was incredible.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
My '64 C10 was christened Claire when I asked the wife if her middle name was her grandmother's namesake and she replied, "Yes. Is that what you're naming the truck?". Didn't even think twice, just said yes. The kids titled it "The Death Trap" up till I installed seat belts.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
I don't have an official name yet but, since my wife didn't approve of my choice of color, I think I will name it in honor of her comment. She said when I chose Hugger Orange that the Blazer would look like a pumpkin. I am seriously considering getting a vanity plate that says GR8PMKN or something to that effect.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
I really like this one. I constantly make up merge-names (Maimes?) like that. I like the "Frank" one too.
Mine is named Cecilia, after the old Simon and Garfunkel song. "Cecilia, you're breakin my heart! You're shakin my confidence daily!" It gets dirty after that though so don't bother googlin it. I name everything with a motor though. The wife's van is "The Marshmallow", the infiniti is "Goldie". My mower is Fred, my leaf vac is Gertrude (she's tempermental). Weed whacker is "Gomer". Tiller is "Sparky" because he'll bite ya when ya flip the off switch. I haven't named the power washer yet, but I just got it for Christmas and don't know what his/her personality is. My daughter got a labeler and put their names on all of their handles because she got confused when I'd say "Go fetch me Fred and make sure he's gassed up". I may have a problem.

Bompenstien
When I started the build thread he had no name but as things have evolved the name Bompenstien has stuck. If you can suffer through the read it becomes evident. |

Muerto Raton. When I cleaned out the glove box I found an unlucky tenant's mortal remains mummified in some seat stuffing.

Re: Does your truck have a name?
My truck name is ZVIETE! which is 2nd in German; this is because this is/was my high school truck which got sold when i got deployed to Japan in the Marines (my Dad and I are still in a debate as to how this happened...) almost 11 years later my brother found my old truck sitting in a field by his house with a blown motor; of couse I had to buy it back, hence the name... ZVIETE! for getting it back the 2nd time.
still looking for a name for the new find, the 63 Burb; usually drive it for a bit, then a name will surface. Wagz

Re: Does your truck have a name?
My truck is Babe, as in the Blue Ox. When running and driving she wont be fast, but will pull anything down the road!
My son named his Sleeping Beauty, because eventually he wants to build it into a sleeper (when he is on his own insurance). |
