Get the number off the axle tube. There were 1st and 2nd design axles.

Yeah, that bracket sure looks like a factory piece. I would have thought it was factory, too. The factory clamps look home made and the aftermarket looks factory. huh

Educate me please, I've got the welded bracket on my front axle which looks the same those posted earlier in this thread, however my tie rod has the hole for the stabilizer in it with no clamp on bracket. I suppose someone probably swapped the oe tie rod for a later model?

That could be a idea, but, you can always check the ring gears (if its OE) and the manufacture date is stamped into that. That will give you a indication as to what year the axle (D44) was made or even what modifications have been done. On my 72 Blazer, I have a 72 Dana 44 with disc brakes and OE weld on stabilizer bracket with the little OE bracket on the cross bar. I modified with putting 1973-up axles and a limited slip, while still using the OE 1972 Ring and Pinion (stamped). I have a bone stock 1971 SWB k10 with a 1971 D44 with disk brakes, but no stabilizer brackets (I have a Hickey set-up) and gears are stamped 1971. Point is: over a period of time (30/40 years) its hard to tell what is OE and what is AF/modified. Just keep putting up the pictures and I'm sure this board can figure it out.
