Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
quick question for you guys. Are the bowties in the center of the original steering wheel always blue? 69GWC is swapping me tomorrow with a reproduction that i am excited about, and i think it is missing that small piece of plastic on the horn button, just wondering. Thanks

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
Congrats on the nice looking truck. I'm about two months ahead of you on ownership of my '69 C-20. I too started with the fundamentals and started getting my truck back to proper working condition. Get it running, steering and stopping. I started with my lamp cord wiring and just moved on from there. I am waiting on my 3-point seatbelts and westcoast style mirrors to arrive in the mail. So....while I wait, I thought I'd pick up a fiberglass kit and go to town making a set up cup holders that extend out from front of the seat (over the hump).

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
Got home early from work and painted the inner trim on the front of the truck, took about an hour, but made a huge difference.

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
My entire front grill was spray painted black when I got it. So when I stripped the rattle can crap off.....so went the Chevrolet lettering. I want to try and paint them back on but am unsure of my shakey hand. LOL I have been back and forth on the headlight bezels.

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
i personally think that the black head light bezels looks great, but i supposed if i had spent hours stripping black spray paint off of the trim i would repaint slowly as well.

Anyway, it's personal preference, but having had both, I can say I prefer the factory look Here's the before shot of the inner grille. Ignore the nice outer grille I replaced this one with in the first shot. The inner grille stayed the same Posted via Mobile Device Last edited by Mister-B; 01-30-2013 at 02:48 AM. |

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
Personal preference is right. I do like the silver grid but I like the all black too. Kinda puts me in the boat with the headlight buckets black or silver. I like both.
I think I want to keep mine all silver with black grill inserts but want to paint the CHEVROLET black but not the stripes. And I want to find some time to get down there and adjust my front bumper. lol |

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
The variation is helpful at this point, i am going to be tweeking everything for a lot of years! I think i prefer the all black. I'd like to do more of the black on white, i like the high contrast look. Eventually i'd like to get black daytonas on the truck as well. I think it looks mean, which i like.
Mister B, is your truck 2wd? if so, how are weighting the back for snow? It snowed here in KC and i lost traction a dozen times or so, and i see you are in Utah, so you are accustomed to the snow. let me know if you have any tips. |

Re: 1969 C20 Daily Driver
Sand bags right over the rear axle, 6/8 would be a good start. Or anything heavy that wont slide around on you.
