Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Here are a few of mine. Not a very good pic of the before but it was really rough and and quite rusty. I have owned this thing since about 2000 and have put a ton of hours into it. Labour of love if you will and my kids have grown up with it so hopefully they carry on the love of old vehicles.

Did you paint it red or is the color different in the light? My truck looks red on a cloudy day and orange on a sunny day. Just curious if the two lower pics are the same paint? Posted via Mobile Device

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Hey AirSpeed, yes it is the same paint in both pics(factory color). In some light it does look orange but it is actually red. Just looking at your avitar it is probably the same color as your truck. Nice truck by the way and I really like your tear drop trailer. If I remember correctly from a preveous post of yours you built that yourself right.

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Yeah it is a lot of fun! turns a few heads here and there and is quite handy at times. I have bought and sold lots of old vehicles over the years but I just can't let this one go for some reason.

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Hello this is my first post and this is a before picture because I haven't done anything to her yet going to do a full body off restore
![]() She's a cheyene super 4x4 72. Got all the trim trying to decide on color combo. We have had a few over the years but never the orange and white combo. I really like that. And the dark green and white combo. But that's down the road. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
CMACDONALD1...you went the exact opposite of me. I have a set of those chrome roof lamps i want to put on my 72 Burb C20. Wish I had known you 10 years ago so I could've gotten a pattern for mounting them exactly like the factory before you shaved yours. As for the sport mirrors...in a word....i @%$#& hate those things!!! i can't stand mine. they are WAY too small for a truck and make backing up a big PITA. i picked up a really nice set of the exact tripods like your truck came with, but luckily i have the measurements for those.
anyway, here's mine: ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Hey CAPEV86, I can certainly appreciate cab lights and big mirrors on a 3/4 ton but I did not like them on a 1/2 ton. My cab lights were not factory. You have a great looking burb.

Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
yeah, my 3/4 ton didn't come that way. but my dad's 72 Burb C10 (highlander) had both options. the lights may have been a dealer installed item, but i think they still had a template particular to the burbs. does it say anything about them on the back of the glove box door? i just think a truck looks more rugged with cab lights and my dad's always looked great that way. i saved the lights off his truck and hope to once again have them running with the old family camper in tow. otherwise i wouldn't cut holes in my roof.
as for a 1/2 ton vs 3/4 ton debate...the body is the same size. the sport mirrors are sharp looking, but the heads are just too darn small to see with. the tripods work awesome, but the brackets aren't bulky like camper mirrors (compromise). my dad installed spacers on his truck to make the heads stick out farther. but i wouldn't do that unless i was towing a modern wide body trailer. thanks for the compliments, you have a nice looking truck also. i agree, the big mirrors and lights would look kinda funny on a lowered truck. Re: 67-72 before and after pics!
Here is my 68 when I first got it
![]() And here is what it looks like now. I just got a dent pulled out of the drivers fender and new rocker panel and outer floor. I have also done a number of little things to it over the 6 years I have had it, and hopefully within a year I'll get all the rust fixed, painted, and looking nice. ![]()
