I think it's ridicules a person has to pay the state for NOT driving/registering their car!

The one-time $10 non-op charge keeps the vehicle in the system so it's easy to get it re-licensed later. Seems simple enough.

I understand that, but my Virginia vehicle title keeps the vehicle in the system without handing over 10.00 a year.

Title is all the paper I need. It's revenue acquisition plain and simple. They hope you'll overlook it and then GOTCHA.
Plenty of folks in the rest of the country will buy a rust-free truck or car from the Peoples Republic of California as long as you have a title in your name.

same here the title keeps the vehicle in the system no matter what once its in its in! but $10 a year i dont know but i guess they just have to find different ways to make money and screw people over in my opinion

$10 is chicken feed. Bums make more than that in 30 mins of panhandling. Folks will always find something to complain about no matter what. It's 84 degrees today, and I'm wearing shorts and a t shirt...I love the people's republic of California, you couldn't pay me to live anywhere else!
