Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen A Truck Like This ?

Lets put it this way. I can buy it and a complete truck just like it in much better condition(but only a regular cab) for $1000.00 It will be mine when the snow is gone. The other truck has tires on it and you can just roll it right on a trailer. It is a 14000 GVW truck. There is also a very nice 46 chevy pickup sitting there all complete. Maybe the person that posted these pictures for me will post the pics of it on here. I sent him 2 pictures of it. Thanks

Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen A Truck Like This ?

I have seen one truck like this at a car show before. they guy told me he purchased it at state or railroad surplus sale but I don't remember exactly where. his was green with black fenders both front and back. I would get a hold of a Chevy dealership or the GM Heritage center and see if they can help you. I sent a picture to a friend of mine at my local GMC dealer who has been there since the 70's I will post anything he gives me.

but I agree with others here it would be a cool truck once restored

Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen A Truck Like This ?

That is an interesting truck even with the rust. I'd think it was either a power company or railroad truck and originally there may have been a compartment at the front of the bed for additional crew to ride in and the reason for the roll down back window.

That would have to be a late 47 to early 49 truck.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Re: Has Anyone Ever Seen A Truck Like This ?

My friend called back he is almost sure that it is not a factory truck, he says it looks like a "Scott Bilt" truck. He said they were out of Oklahoma and they converted trucks to crew cabs for oil companies, municipalities, railroads and any one else that needed them. he says if it is a Scott Bilt that it would be Extremely Rare

Crown / Orrville conversions come to mind.
