Thread is going a little off the OPs idea but I have to agree here. When I was a kid in the 60's my dad was selling Mopars so thats probably where I got my initial love for em. But now I have zero brand loyalty at all. Its whether I like a particular model now. Some Camaros I like some I dont. Same with Mustangs and every other car =)

I do like quite a few of the newer Audi though.

I don't hardly know what an audi is, I sure don't drive anything but GM and my wife won't even drive a car well maybe a muscle car but other than that it better be a truck for her she has a 67 chevy and a 02 gmc. I was raised to hate fords too lol

Thanks for seeing that,Liz. I had also seen it before and decided to ignore it.

Yes,I was referring to older Audis,as you had referred to older GMs,made after "our trucks"...or after '72. I quoted that for you to clearly see (in case you forgot saying it). Seems quite simple, not sure why I'd need to explain.

I don't consider myself brand loyal. I feel no loyalty to a corporate entity. It's brand preference. If there's any loyalty involved it's to myself. I find what works best and stick with it till I have reason to switch. That hasn't happened for me with GMs. I like knowing what I like and sticking with it,rather than switching around all over the place. I like seeing all the same maker in a driveway. It's just how I am. That's how I do business, too. I just dropped wheels off to be sandblasted last week where I've had my sandblasting done for 25+ years. It's been since '05 that I've used him and he knew me just as well as if I had been there a few days ago. Same with powder coating, machine shop, metal fab, parts,my house plumber, hardware store, lumber yard, etc. I have a favorite brand of most every tool I use. I like one company for certain tools and others for tools that same company makes.
I admit, when my girlfriend moved in she had a '96 Expedition (her x was a Ford guy) and I wanted it out of here. Not just because it was a Ford, but because it would be needing work,I was unfamiliar with them, and that darn engine sat back into the firewall like a van. Screw that! She wanted something more economical,4wd,and not too terribly small. I steered her toward an '01 Toyota 4Runner because I feel it's the best in it's class. It's full frame,so basically same as the pickups. My sister and brother in law both have '95 4cyl/5spd pickups and live up a steep rocky road on a mountain. His has about 400k and hers about 300k. Facts don't lie. Those have a great reputation for a reason. I look way back when it comes to reputation. I never buy anything when it first comes out. I have no use for a car,so I know very little about modern ones. My son had an A6 for a while, though, but not long enough for me to have an opinion on them.
I've had GM trucks covering the year I was born up to '92. They have been well built trucks,IMO. My '92 has 297k (all my miles) and has needed very little. Still on original engine. My younger son is 21 and I've had that truck his whole life.

You're ignoring the fact that I own a newer Audi, listed the year, and even posted pics. Of course that's what I'm referring to. You saw a small crack to weisel your brand war fight, which was clearly never my intention, and others can see that. This was supposed to be a light hearted thread. Move along
