Thanks, went threw a lot of different sketches before I decided this one,and Yes I made all the panels from a moldable sign board(komacel), then some 1/8 inch high density foam, rapped in leather.

?? Tell us more about how this stuff is used? Special tools required or what? Is there a website that has more information?

Your interior truly looks outstanding! Congratulations.

Ok, I did a search and found this material is fully machine able like wood or metal. But I still would like to know how you "mold" it to conform (for example) with your headliner area?

It cuts easy with a razer knife and you heat it up with a heat gun( paint stripper) once its pliable you bend it and wait for it to cool, and it keeps that form, just take your time heating it or it will get to soft, and it will take on any imprint like pressure from your fingers etc.

Using sign board is a really good idea. What thickness did you use?

Re: show us your interior

OK so mine is pretty boring compared to most shown, one difference though I have removed the hump in the firewall. Mine is a COE and will have the front of the engine under the seat so I didn't need the hump. I will be using a late model seat which I plan on making a tilt forward option for engine access.

Hey look....1st post

Re: show us your interior

Yeah, I'm curious about the thickness you used plus how you got the long straight lines to "blend" at the curved lines as though it is one continuos line?

Also, how did you conform the backside of the panel to the surface if the door or whatever?

God bless all of you guys with the new-fangled interiors. I personally dig the original look. Heres my 58. Just installed a new 23" Nostalgic Lokar shifter.

To answer both your's Dan, and Srengr questions, the komocel is 1/8 inch and the foam i used was 1/4 inch( it's call volara sculpting foam or landau foam) and it comes in different thicknesses,as far as getting the lines that's done with the foam just cut out the strips and glue to the komacel and I left a space between my foam. When it was all glued into place and I had my pattern then I glued the leather into place starting from the top(or bottom) and laying the leather down making sure that it stuck to the foam and komacel.Thats the nice thing about the foam you can cut any design you want,my pieces on the back of the cab I got lucky and they just kind of snapp ed into place,I did make some wood curved backing that i srewed in place for the corner pieces you can see them in the one picture then trim pieces to finish also komacel

Re: show us your interior

Brikar- thats a really nice, clean interior. I will certainly be attempting something along those lines.
In your last pictures it kinda looks like there are stainless strips in the left kick panel. Is that a camera trick or an accent your working on?

Its just some chrome flexible body molding I was thinking of putting in but i'm not sure about it ,I still thinking about some finishing touches to the interior and that was an option

Re: show us your interior

Thanks guys. She's come a long way in the past year. Still a work in progress. Interior is pretty much done, just need to install the deluxe heater unit, which I'm in the process of restoring now. What a great old truck. I can't go anywhere without getting lots of thumbs up, smiles (and lots of questions!). I particularly love the interiors of the 55-59 pickups, and I have to say after all the hard work I'm happy with how this one came out. My buddy was trying to convince me to go with just red on the dash, but I'm glad I decided to go with the red and white two tone scheme.

Yes, the two tone is outstanding. Is it automotive base coat/clear coat or rattle can stuff like mine will be for awhile?
