I'm interested in seeing that, too. I think the exhaust on mine is original, but its so cool to have your's to use as a standard. Mine has lots of small rust holes from sitting around, but the pipes look like factory bent pieces.

What the story on the color of the trim on the top of the door panels? My 71 is a silver gray with a blue panel (white w blue int). I am getting ready to refinish these.

I was always under the assumption they were painted the door panel color? On Cheyenne and CST trucks it was chrome (and it was different)

Great truck and great preservation of such a nice truck. How anyone can have a truck that old with hardly any miles is crazy.

That is drop dead gorgeous! If we all could be that lucky. ..I assume that gas cap is original? Why wouldn't it be with the rest of the truck original? I've never seen one like that

Those caps were only available in '71 and '72, and don't fit '70 and older tanks.

I'm thinking I might have sold you that truck for less than I should have! I'm glad to see you're taking such good care of it. I was afraid it might go to someone who wouldn't have kept it stock. What a shame if someone got it and c-notched it.

It's in good hands here . I have put less than 100 miles on it since I bought it from you though. I think I'm going to drive it to the truck nationals this Saturday

The truck codes as a 542 white/medium blue conventional two-tone on the SPID. The body color is the 510 medium blue.

I know this is a very old thread but is there a post that tells the story of this truck, why was it not driven and so perfectly preserved?

I'll try and keep it short, woman ordered it new, hardly used it, kept it garaged. She passed away and left it to a grandson who was young. When the grandson got to be of age he was in trouble with the law so they never let him have it. They just kept it sitting in a garage all these years and finally let it go.

Re: looked under the floor mat today, lookie!!

2K miles? That's a whole 44 miles per year...............

At this rate "you'll" hit 100K miles in the year 4193. It may be difficult to locate parts to rebuild that engine, though "you" probably don't have to worry about it.
