Re: put your build thread in your signature
Jim it really helps those of us who answer a lot of the questions that pop up to know what a guy or gal is working on when they ask an often simple question. Ogre thinks Task Force and I think AD most of the time. We sometimes give an answer for one and the question is actually on the other and the answer doesn't pertain like it should.
Some of us draw from a lot of years of experience with these trucks and some of us are real good at searching out the info and sorting it out so that the info we provide is solid and viable and real help to the one asking the question. I had to go back and change an answer yesterday because after seeing another poster's answer I did a bit of research that backed up what he had written and showed that what worked with 10 SI and 12 SI alternators didn't work with the newer alternators and would possibly have caused serious issues. That was my education for the day.

My wife looks at my garage and offers, "If you'd just focus on one of these it would get done" but then she notices the look I give her and drops it. My '54 cab is upside down on a rotisserie, the '67 cab still rests on its frame but nothing else is there, an old BMW motorcycle is on the lift and almost street-ready, an old Triumph Trident is in the corner just waiting its turn, bed parts, fenders, doors, and hoods for two stepsides are everywhere, etc., etc. I have loads of pictures to organize into build threads someday but it won't be real soon. And my wife keeps hinting that the house needs my attention.

Re: put your build thread in your signature
I have challenged everyone to help one of our own, SKYMANGS, the S10 swap sticky thread author was severely injured in a fire at his shop. A detail of the events can be found here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=676217 There is a GoFundMe page setup to help him and his family with expenses. Advance Design brilliantly incorporated the link http://gofundme.com/c49h5mjx8 into the signature, that way it automatically is posted on any thread you have replied on. Please help spread the word and link up your signature to "Ole Sarge's" GoFund me link and let's help one of our own.

Re: put your build thread in your signature
I did all my others with no problems. It's been a while since I've been on here and I tried adding my Cadillac and it works but when I click on my link it takes me straight to a search engine instead of my thread. All of them work but the Cadillac. Maybe I have too many cars? haha

Re: put your build thread in your signature
REVISED FOR PHOTOSUCKIT FIASCO
i added 'real pics' to this thread i notice most of us do not have a link to your build thread in your signature. having the year of your truck and a link to your thread in every post you make, is better than the 2nd post asking what year truck you have. i had to modify my signature line today (rip fiberglassforums.com ) and took a few screen shots of the process. step 1: go to the first page of your build thread, click on and copy the header. i use chrome but it should be similar in all web browsers. use what ever method works for you to copy the text, i just use ctrl+c to copy

Re: put your build thread in your signature
step 2: click on User CP (user control panel), then click on the Edit Signature link and you will see this edit signature page
click on the icon Insert Link that looks like a globe and chain link and a window will pop up like this. paste the text you copied from your build thread into the text box and click on OK to paste use what ever you use, i just click in the box and use Ctrl+v to paste

Re: put your build thread in your signature
step 3: after you click on OK you will see this screen.
it will show the link to your thread AND it will show a duplicate highlighted link to your thread. do not click anywhere on the page after this JUST TYPE while the text is highlighted type a description for your thread, i typed ''Ogre's 58 Truk build'' and the link shows like this Ogre's 58 Truk build if you hit save signature without typing in the highlighted text your thread will look like this http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=501998

Re: put your build thread in your signature
step 4: click on the Preview Signature button and you should see your new link in the Preview pane
click on this Preview link and it should open a new window into the first page of your build thread. if your thread does not open in in a new window, something is wrong, go back to step 1. then click on Save Signature button to save your signature. every thread you post to will now have a link to your thread, if you wisely put the year of your truck in the link everyone will know.
