Thought about that but I like to get into the rubarb patch once in a while and that stuff doesn't hold up well against alders

What's the deal with the camper on your truck Larry? I'm intrigued.

The deal? It’s my home away from home. The camper is a 2011 Phoenix Popup I had custom built for it a couple years ago.

Actually, I do a lot of mountain fishing trips and back country adventures with it. It’s been all over Colorado, Arizona, Utah and California. Here is a trip report from a 2,500 mile off-road adventure we took last spring to California and back. We’re doing another this May. We usually do at least one long trip out of state with it every year. It sees a lot of remote back country travel

2009 trip
2010 trip
2011 trip
2012 trip
2013 trip

Love your truck Larry. I've been curious if you have any build threads on it?

Those trips that you have recorded make me want to move out that way. There really isn't anywhere near where I live where I can get away from people and the effects they have on the land.

Thanks! I hear that, I lived in Michigan for 6 years and you could not go anywhere to get away from people or private land. This part of the country is nice in that there is so much open country to explore. In many places in the southwest you can be out there for days on end and never see a sole or anything man made, except maybe an airplane flying over.

I really don’t have a build thread per’se as the truck has been my project for the past 18 years. Long before build threads existed . There are several project threads around though. Here is a thread on the NV4500 trans swap from 2010 that I just updated last week with updates to the trans. There are more floating around on the 8.1L, seats, fender flares, etc. The Burb has its own thread though......Polar Bear Suburban in the 4x4 section.

Re: Lets see some trucks with a 4'' to 6'' lift with 35s

How much does that thing weigh? I do a lot of bush whacking myself and I'm in the early stages of thinking about thinking about getting some kind of truck mounted shelter. I go away almost every weekend so it just makes sense.

How insulated from the cold is it?
