Re: Rear frame rail mounted gas tank options

Got the tank mounted today. Yeay fun.. Still have to plumb it. I used 3/4" pipe on top as a roof kinda. I would have use square steel but I didn't have any and the pipe was free. I also bought Garage Door Weather Stripping as a buffer for the tank. The last picture shows the 70º bend that I will probably use if I do a side fill. Right now with the 3/4" pipe is hangs down low enough for the straight fill to be below the bed and the tank barely hangs dow below the frame.

Looks good C.F. good call on using the weatherstrip. Where you gonna put the vent valve? Remember it can't loop below tank level. Up and away.

Re: Rear frame rail mounted gas tank options

I am probably going to run the hose along the bed sill and tuck it up inside the bed walls. If I go to a side fill I will use a vented cap or run a new vent that way.

I used stainless braided PTFE line and PTFE fittings....

Pretty easy to work with (PTFE fittings vs. normal -AN sst fittings)

Re: Rear frame rail mounted gas tank options

Ok Thanks. I've never seen or heard of that until now. Is there a size chart somewhere showing what size should be used for what type of application?

Also, aside from the obvious flexibility/ease of use option, is there any advantage running this over a hard line?

Re: Rear frame rail mounted gas tank options

Hard line would be fine between the tank and engine.

I'm going to use the twist-Lok hose and ends similar to the Russell stuff as I just like the more simple black rubber style look and easy AN fitting ends.
