Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
I also have a leaf spring C10, but has the horseshoe style center support (like the one Corts60 bought.)
Next time I replace mine, I'm going with this one NATIONAL HB88532. It's 1.378" I.D. and was found on some trucks and vans from 1987 to 2006. Just another option to think about since this one seems heavy duty. |

Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
That looks legit. I’d like to know what the dimensions are from the mounting surface to center bore. I think the factory one is 3.4375 or so.

Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
I used the same Neapco bearing in my truck and it has been working great.

Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
How long ago did you get it and where did you source it?

However if his bracket is riveted to the crossmember (as all, I've seen, so far), that may be easier said than done... |

Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
Well I got it all back together and went out for a test drive. Success! It is nice and smooth. I even through in a new u-joint at the trans slip joint. If I have to do this again, I will probably try flipping the bracket like you guys suggested. I didn't even look at that while I had it apart.
I hope this thread helps someone out in the future!

Re: HD carrier bearing. The odd one.
Awesome. I think I missed your final update on this back in the day. Just wanted to add that this is what is so great about the message boards and the ability to find this info at a later date or even on a search engine and why the Facebook groups are just NOT a good place for tech.
