Your up in Tahoe? Well shoot, swing on by! Kick the tires, shoot the $hit, turn a wrench. There's not a heck of a lot to see at the moment. It's back in the garage in bits, engine and trans are out. I need to cut out and replace the firewall. Discovered some spots hidden by undercoating that I can push my fingers through due to rust.... So I have that going for me

Got my propane setup from Nash Fuel as Gotpropane will not just sell you just parts of a kit. He only sells a full kit. Some of which I didnt need.

My vaporizers are Woodword H-420 tweaked to my specs by NVGI, that are rated for 600hp each.

Little secret for gaining a few ponies out of the Impco mixers.
Inside the fuel inlet is a little restrictor plate.

Pull the thing out.

Reports say this is good to allow the mixer to support an additional 40hp of fuel demand.


Got all my wiring, MSD ECU and TCU sitting in boxes. And a new compact in-cab heater as im freeing up some space on the firewall and under the dash.
Also just picked up some procomp air-bumps.
Chugging right along!

Well, Rust f-ing sucks. When slinging the engine in, I decided to clean up some of the globed on undercoating on the firewall. And while doing so, I noticed my fingers pressed into the cab with ease. Finally got around to stripping the dash and wiring to get to the firewall, and I found a nice strip of the stuff that I figured just needed to be cut out and replaced. Well, the deeper you dig. As you can see by the photos, its bad. Seems the gutters were completely full of debris. Spent the better part of an hour cleaning all the crap out of them. This truck must have been parked under a pinetree for quite a while. I fished out dead mummified baby birds, and so much plant material that it had turned into a nice black fertilizer. Should have put the bucket full I cleaned out onto my veggies.
Over the years, this allowed muddy water to pool on the seam between the firewall and the wiper race. Cancer took over. Even behind the brake booster is completely rotted out. So, the entire firewall needs to be cut out and a new one fabricated. Yippy... At this point, its been suggested that I look for a new cab. I'm taking this under consideration.



In all honesty, im just tired of finding new time consuming stuff to do with this rig. Delays, delays.
That and, living in Nevada, Im spoiled as hell. There is no rust here. The only salt that touches your rig is from the fries you dropped. Soooo.. no time like the present.




I hate working on sheet metal. Its not like the big stuff that just needs some good deep welds. Its hours of this tack-tack-tack crap that drives me nuts.

Engine is home as is the hydro-boost brakes




Trans and t-case are tucked nice and deep into the cab for better clearance for suspension bits.








New input on the NP205 and a clocking ring as well. Twin sticked of course.

Wow this is amazing! Cant wait to see it come together. How did you remove the metal piece of the dash? Ive always wanted to remove that to clean up the mess of wiring under the dash but its incredibly hard to get to with the metal dash still there.

Thanks for the compliments fellas. She's running WAY behind schedule. But it should be running soon enough.

As for the dash... A sawzall works well. Side grinder. Or if your lucky as hell to own one, a plasma torch.

I tried to peel up the rubber window gasket to get access to the spot welds. And then the windshield cracked. So out came the sawzall and so did the dash. I'll be fabricating a new dash. But fiberglass and aluminum option are out there.

Bumping back from the mothballs.. Sucks being the only person in my group of friends who can fabricate. Always other stuff to do besides work on my own rig.
Yay! Finally had a full, uninterrupted weekend to myself to hammer some stuff out. So, here ya go. Photos of the interior progress so far.

Cooling it is a 3 core mishimoto radiator and some big plate coolers for the other fluids. Engine oil, trans fluid and power steering:
