Re: Looking for advice on how to add or fix my fan problem.

I'm in the same boat with a similar setup. My 66 also has a 350 where the 327 used to sit. The new fan moved in with the motor. I have a short water pump and I do NOT have a spacer, like the OP, on the fan.

Is a factory shroud likely to fit with my (and the OP's) more modern fan?

Also, I saw a post sometime back that showed a nice looking shroud that was made from a universal kit from Summit or Jegs. I don't remember the details. Can anyone recommend a kit that they've used?

The stock style shroud will work with a small block with a short water pump and a clutch fan as long as the diameter of the fan is not too large. There are different diameters of fan blades. I do not have a fan shroud here at home to measure to give you a dimension.

Is that the shroud opening or the fan diameter?

I have a fan from a previous car that should work . so should i just add that fan on a toggle switch .

Or should i buy the temp sensor and relays for the fan and remove the old water pump fan.

Or should i just buy the shroud.
42 NATO, did you get a shroud to fix this issue?

How much room do you have between the pump snout and radiator?
