Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
Would still Need the trinity, not sure the GM LS crate package is able to shut the fans off at a set speed. That is something I will have to look into.

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
I'll have to double check it this evening, but I think that is an option.

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
I will tag along here too, I did not find any options for it on hptuners however I am not as in the know so to speak on tuning as many of these guys on here.
All I have been able to do with the AC on mine is "bump" the idle up when it is on. I do believe it is an option to turn the fans on when it see the AC signal I have not switched that on but may give it a try. Like stated earlier I don't think fans are necessary when driving down the highway and them engine temps don't require the fans. So far if I am moving I don't require the fans.

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
I am also not seeing any selection in HP tuners to deactivate the fan at a set road speed. Maybe I am missing something.
I also do not know if the Crate Engine controller will allow for an A/C input like many of the aftermarket controllers. Meaning these controllers cannot control the A/C clutch/Fans like in a factory vehicle. I was under the impression the engine control in this case is load based.... The engine sees an additional load on the engine due to RPM drop and compensates accordingly. |

The fans are not needed at all on mine if the AC isn't on. If I cut the AC on and just idling the high side of the AC goes off scale. I need the fan on @ idle but not at speed.
I don't want a bunch of switches to turn on/off all the time. I would like to make it simple if possible along with current setup. ![]()

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
Here's a snapshot of the table I was talking about. Under "Running Conditions" -> AC fans disable speed, you can choose the MPH in which to shut the fans off.

Thanks Hart_Rod,
I'm going to try and see if my tuner can do anything with it. ![]()

Hey that's great. Not sure what engine you are running Heart but the new E-Rod or GMPP creat engines do not use these tables.
There may be a way to do it but these computer are not that simple when it come to on off temps either. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
I have a Excel spreadsheet I got off of HPTuners that helps you set up your fan on/off temps for the E67 and E38. Let me know if you want it.

I will tAke you up on that. I Kind of get how to set up the dual fan control but it is still A little confusing. It one of those tings where you understand it, come back to it 3 Days later and you have to relearn it all over again.... The more you do it the easier it becomes I guess. |

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
Rob, mine does not look like that. It is an older swap I did about 11 years ago. it uses a "322" computer that was upgraded if you will to a custom os for my 2 bar speed density. I have HP tuners pro and don't have those fields.

What year is your computer? Does it have red/blue or blue/green connectors?

Well yours looks simple enough to get the dual fans on/off but again it does not look like there any way of shutting them down at a set Speed.

Re: My super-duper fan controller magic box!
Rob it's a 2001 or 02. It's the red and blue connector. The electric fans work as expected with the temps but no options for AC stuff. Not a biggie but would be nice to have it.
Yes it's simple and works
