High idle after installing carb spacer

Yeah, learning the quirks of starting a carbed vehicle is a good idea. But I still recommend fixing the percolation issue. Otherwise, try pulling a big hill and have the truck conk out 2/3s the way up the hill. Pull the air cleaner off and it's puking gasoline out the vents. Been there, done that. A spacer should help. But I am not sure why the spacer you got was causing so much grief.

I also agree with others about the fuel pressure problem. Eddys must have 5-6psi. Not a bit more or less. Any more will cause drivability problems for sure that resemble percolation issues. If you don't want to go the regulator route, buy an Eddy fuel pump #1721.

I agree, storm. suggestion was just to get him going 'til he does figure it out. once the engine is shut off the carb is absorbing heat from all around, not just thru the base. it seems the edelbrocks are particularly prone to this extra heat causing percolation.
