Re: Soap on a Rope
Yeah, lots of boxes, took three trips to the recycle center.
Something I didn't do was check the frame for square.... Guess what, dropped the soap again. Been hit drivers side. And out of square. Spent the day going through Craigslist looking for a replacement. Have two good prospects. Might buy both. But I have to wait till tomorrow. IM not in a patient mood. |

Re: Soap on a Rope
EJC78- thanks man.
Today I did have fun though. Despite the bent frame rail. I ordered wheels, fuel tank, gauges, brake kit, new axle, and radiator. All at once with the help from Travis And Nick at Pro Performance. Couldn't of been any easier. Definitely some cool guys who know what they sell. Last edited by lunatic1968; 01-12-2018 at 09:36 PM. |

Re: Soap on a Rope
So I seem to be doing the c10 two step. But I found a new frame for a hundred bucks but it has some small issues. Nothing I can’t fix but I’m ready to move forward. I’ve got a couple more rivets left and I’ll be ready for powder coating.
As you can see when I drilled the drivers side frame it sprung big time. One rivet was already sheared. So that one is going to scrap. Found a new 3/4 ton frame but I had to winch it out of a field. Luckily the parts I need are in good shape. |

Re: Soap on a Rope
Found a crack where the steering gear bolts up. I’ll grind it out and weld it up. I’ll mock it up today then it’s ready for some powder coating.

Re: Soap on a Rope
Cool build. If that crack is at where the steering box mounts, you may want to look into a kit such as offered by ORD. That frame'll probably be plenty strong, but since you are powder coating, you may want to take steps to keep it from recurring.

Re: Soap on a Rope
Mock up, and making template for frame “close out panel” to hide some of the lines, hoses, and cables. It will be removable.
