I don't think it would devalue our original Blazers. Look at the early Bronco - you can buy literally EVERYTHING to build a new Bronco from the frame up to the hard top. And the prices for original units have not been affected. Probably because the cost to assemble a new Bronco from all new parts is really high. If Blazer tubs became available, I believe the cost to build one would be highly prohibitive, and the asking price for a Blazer built on a repop tub would be comparable to an original restored unit in order to recoup the cost. There will not be a market flooded with cheap repop-tubbed Blazers any time soon in my opinion.

Having reproduction reinforcement plates would be great based on going with original truck doors for good fitment.

Re: Blazer parts you can't buy aftermarket.

The rear hatch hard ware, especially the side ratchet pieces.

I have all mine and did not realize they were not available.

I sold a top not too long ago in rough condition but the hardware was worth the price of the top to the buyer.

How about video of bucket seat restoration of installing seat foam and seat covers that are easy to do yourself like camaros and chevelles. I could not find one video of Blazer bucket seat restoration installing seat covers.
Here is a picture of my first attempt. I had to take it apart twice. now I need some professional help without ever seeing it done. But hey , I can build a million dollar building if you give me some blueprints.

I am a builder as well (swimming pools) and like you mentioned, with a set of plans I can build whatever you want! But something as "easy" as this will confuse the %$#@ out of me! Isn't it funny how our personal skill sets make things "easy", while the things we don't do every day can cause such grief? Different strokes for different folks; I think that turned out great!

I am looking at them on page 114 of the catalog it says the head diameter is .60 on them which is too big. The originals are .497. The .60 screws will fit in one of the bracket holes but not the other (based on my recent experience looking for these) What does the head actually measure on the ones you just got? I am very interested in ordering some but already have a pile of the .060 ones. Can you confirm the head is no more than .50 I have also found that the ones with .60 heads are #4 phillips instead of #3.

Thanks
Richard

Ok Guys , when you find out if the screws fit both holes on the visor bracket please let me. The minimum order is $20 + 6 to ship. so I would end up with 23 screws @ 79 cents each. I just canceled my order after reading Richards thoughts. if anybody wants to sell a few lmk. thanks, a1

Re: Blazer parts you can't buy aftermarket.

I think it is great, IF, they are right. If I had not been researching this already I would not have known to ask this. I already have several boxes of the .60 head and here is picture difference. They will fit in the outside hole but the inside hole is too small on the visor bracket. This is the 1st page I have seen reference of "jackson" so I am just wanting to see if it might be considered a reduced size head like our original bastard screws are.

Richard

Re: Blazer parts you can't buy aftermarket.

for 2-3268, the way i read the table you posted, it says 1/4 head, which if you reference the top table it says 1/4 head = .48" diameter. which is also the same info the lady gave me over the phone when i ordered. additionally they fit the visor bracket i tested last night, unless i was imagining things.

And correct, there is a $20 minimum, so i ordered extras. I can double-check tonight if needed

If you could stick a tape measure on the head that would be great. If it is at 1/2" that is what is needed if it is 5/8 it is the ,60 which I could not get to go in the inner hole. The way they have the page laid out is a little confusing but I do see what you are talking about. Thanks for responding back on it. If they are correct I am going to order some to go along with the stainless bolts and washers I got for the 3rd long bolt.

Richard

Re: Blazer parts you can't buy aftermarket.

I'm doing my top now. Let's say learning is expensive.

The end ratchet latch pieces and the rods for the rear hatch handle.

Someone just snatched the handle out of the fiberglass and that had to be repaired.

I have all the stock parts and tried to order all new stuff.

I will clean these up and go with them.

I have the cam piece for the handle of another camper shell. I may just attach that and bore holes in a plate on the top for locking. Much simpler than chasing down parts that no longer are offered or even trying to refurbish.

Someone doing a million dollar ride they may be of value. Mine will be just shy of that. LOL.

What about the vertical trim pieces that hold weather stripping to seal the bed side to the tailgate? I’m not seeing them anywhere. Does anyone remake them?

Thanks!

I didnt realize he was selling those too. I ordered/received his carpet hold downs a couple weeks ago.

I doubt I’m alone in saying this but I’m using this thread to determine the parts I need to order for my project. My blazer is mostly complete but there are a few things here and there that I need/need to replace.
