Re: FIXRUPR 1987 R10 LQ4/4l80e

Update! Just got a call from PSI about my harness and it's going to be shipped back tomorrow. Let me tell you about their customer service.....

My harness was chewed up by my dog. To me, it was RUINED.. I called and they laughed with me and told me to send it back and they would fix it if I didn't feel comfortable fixing it myself . So I sent it back and less than 1 week it's on its way back. Said they worked on it over an hour and replaced a LOT of it. $75 plus 20 to ship it and I have my harness back. I am 110% satisfied with that!!! I was going to lose $700 to trash it, so i think 75 is BEYOND fair! I'm so glad I went with PSI Conversions for my harness !

Re: FIXRUPR 1987 R10 LQ4/4l80e

Nice score today, found a good deal on some GM gaskets I was needing for my swap. Here's what I got

intake gaskets
Front cover gasket
Exhaust gaskets
Exhaust doughnut and seal (only got one of each on accident)
Oil cooler block off
Valve cover gaskets
Exhaust manifold bolts (hope I can use with my SE headers)
Coolant steamport o rings
All long head bolts, no short
Water pump gaskets
Oil pump tube o ring
And a crank bolt.

All GM in GM wrappers. Guess how much !!

$80!!!!

It did turn out alright! You couldn't have told me that at the time it happened but it did.

One thing I learned about my last 5.3... dont get the cheap knock sensors... go with the AC Delco... I changed mine and couldnt keep them from poppin code. Went to AC Delco sensors and problem solved.

I know this thread has been boring but I have been slowly acquiring parts. Got a big order from Brian Tooley today! Going with a stage 4 truck cam and a circle d 3000-3200 stall converter. The converter will drop ship so I haven't got it yet.

Do you have any pics of the camper on with the new wheels? I think the rallys fit the old school style of the camper... thats why I'd like to see it on with the 20s.

What a cool transplant idea. Keeps getting me thinking about pulling the drivetrain in my suburban and putting in the K5. L18/4L85e, 14FF....

That would be cool!

I know... still boring... still buying parts. Just got a shipment from Summit of head gaskets and head bolts. Almost ready to do my cam swap now. Maybe it will start getting a little more exciting soon.

Re: FIXRUPR 1987 R10 LQ4/4l80e

Finally made some progress last night. Stayed up til 2am changing cam, springs, valve seals, lifters, and lifter trays. Took forever because we took our time. It was my first time doing any of this, but I feel confident we did it right. I would rather do it myself and learn even if i do screw something up than to pay someone else to do it. That's just me..

You want to talk about a company that takes real pride in how they ship something. Circle D!
