Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Wow, your truck is bad a$$! I love it. I really think I may go the same route as you as far as paint goes. Is that the factory medium red or what ever they call it? Nice work on your LS swap, very clean. Hats off to you.

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
With the help of a friend we got the wiring sorted out. Something I was not too familiar with when we started. It was kind of fun. I enjoy doing that kind of stuff.

Nice truck! I love those chrome rallys, bought a set myself. What center caps did you go with?

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Truck got all new suspension rebuild last weekend. New Moog upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, new bushings, 2.5" ECE drop spindles, new coil springs, 4" drop ECE leaf springs. Truck drives like new again. It's nice having tight steering again. Just need to get it aligned and should be good.

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Stance looks great. I rebuilt my front suspension and was kinda disappointed with the ride...only to find out the steering box was shot. Replaced it with a new unit along with a hydroboost and it's a completely new truck.
Any pics of the tank installed, and that custom sump? Keep up with the great progress.

Looks nice! Those are the rear seats from a Silverado correct? 2008 and newer?

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Actually there the rear seats out of a ford 2006 ish truck. There a little thinner then the chevy seats for better leg room. So far seem to be working pretty good.

Yep, both the driver and passenger fold up. That is a nice feature. Hows your truck coming along. Just looked at some of your threads. That Gen V swap looks awesome. Truck is gonna cruise

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Looks like you used the Brothers frame shortening kit? Likely ordering that for myself in a few days. Pretty easy job for the most part?

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Yeah I used the Brothers Trucks kit. Really wasn't hard at all. Had a friend help me. Easier with two people sliding and aligning everything together. Had it done in about 4-5 hours. Make sure you have an air chisel, makes getting old rivets for bed supports easy to remove and relocate. The only thing out of that kit that didn't work, was the shorter brake line for the rear that they supplied. I ended up just cutting my existing and re-flaring it. Good luck.

Thanks Snake72. Fishing and hunting is pretty awesome here! My bro-in-law used to live in Iowa, we used to go down there quite a bit.

Re: 72 C10 Long Bed to Shorty LS Swap
Well its been a long while since I posted, but truck is almost done now. Built my own paint booth in the garage and exhaust system. Got it all painted and put back together. Still need to install some trim and a few loose ends but here she is.
