Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
I've never seen a panhard with a tie rod style end on it. It looks like it has a matching 7* receptacle bung on the axle bracket so it should work great. Wish I'd thought of it!

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
mongocanfly, I have been emailing POL about the parts not lining up and told them there was interest in the panhead bar and bracket. I asked them to put them on their site to sell without buying a kit.
One thing I did that made it a little easier on the rearend brackets was tack them on before mock up. We had a set of stand to level rear end tub side to side. Then cut a prop rod to put pinon angle on the degree that you want. Found center line and measured out the same width that link bars were on the frame at front brackets. Then you can level the back side where the coil over's mount (it's a nice flat surface). I just tacked them on for mock up, it worked out pretty slick. I did check the upper coil over mount tube to be sure it was also level. Kevin |

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
Hey guys. Regarding this thread and the possible fitment issues associated with our 1947-54 Chevy rear 4-link conversion, I would like to offer anyone in the Corona Ca area a FREE rear 4-link conversion (installed). When we designed this kit we made every effort to make sure the donor frame was stock, true and correct. Although we have sold many of these kits with no issues, I would like to first hand install another kit on a running, driving truck to verify the fit and function. This offer is only available for 1 truck only, so first come, first served. To set you mind at ease, we have certified welders in house, our facility is fully secured with alarm and surveillance cameras and obviously, we are fully insured. install time frame to be determined. If interested in this FREE opportunity, please email us at: jc@performanceonline.com
*Truck must be a registered, running truck that can be test driven after install. *Truck must be able to be left with us for up to 1 week for work to be completed. Thank you, Performance Online

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
We have a winner. Mike G from Anaheim has stepped up to our offer for the rear 4-Link kit. The truck will be in our shop in just over a week and we will get started. We will also start a new thread documenting the entire install, so stay tuned. Thanks Mike

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
Hey guys. Well, we got Mikes truck in the shop and up on the lift this week. Unfortunate as soon as we got under it we spotted a problem and were unable to install the 4-bar kit. Mike has a Mustang fuel tank installed. This requires a front support cross member. This cross member is right in the way of our new upper shock cross member. We toyed with the idea of installing one of our aluminum tanks, but the fillers are in different locations and this would require replacing the bed wood. Now this 4-bar kit will work with the aluminum tanks that have side mounting straps as our does. We were able to drop both leaf springs and attempt to mount our front 4-bar hangers. These hangers are designed to bolt in using the existing 5 holes after your remove the original hangers. Well, they were off. We ended up cutting our brackets in half, mounting both sections and tacking back together. These will now be a perfect fit as long as there is consistency between frames. We should have all new brackets around the end of next week. We were really bummed out as was Mike. This is a very nice truck and this kit would have really improved his ride quality.

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
Well Mike I am sorry to hear that you could not install the complete kit, you guys went through a lot of trouble trying to make your Parts fit better. Did you notice the bracket needing to be twisted so the link bars are parallel with each other? The frame gets wider toward to rear making the bars do the same. That was the reason we cut mine apart.

Re: POL 4 link install tips wanted
The adjustment made is right at 2 degrees to correct the angle on the bracket.
