Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
Curious why you used the narrow side trim? It looks like 73-80 trim,... or am I mistaken.

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
I like the correct trim for these trucks blazers and burbs.
The wrong year bumpers and tailgate trim also bug me. I guess if I didn’t want the stick on 81-87 trim,... I would just leave it a solid color. Same thing with trim on the 67-72 trucks. I see a lot of 67-68 side trim now being put on 69-72 trucks. Just my opinion.

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
You bring up a good point about the factory '81-'91 stick on side trim. Even here is Texas, the trim does tend to come off over time.
As for using the narrow earlier trim, I think it looks good on the blazer. It is a nice change that seams stock, but custom at the same time.

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
Did you have any issues fitting the newer body to the older chassis? I plan on doing something similar.

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
zero problems at all..... the 1978 up to 1991 had the same tub. one difference is the 1978 and up to 1991 has a rear seat foot well and the 77 down has no rear foot well.making a frame difference. another difference is the front dog house (hood.fenders) on the 73-80 are different than the 81-91 . the differences are the hood hinges on 73-80 mount on the fenders and the hinges on the 81-91 mount on the cowl. i hope this helps. thx dave

Re: 1978 2-Wheel drive Blazer Build.
Hi Hart_Rod.. It runs great for a crate 350 engine. about like it would from the factory when new! BUT.... I really am thinking about a upgrade like LS3.. that would take it from grandpas truck to ... well you know. much better performance! might do that the first of next year. thx for asking buddy.
