I’m not sure about how great the 383 option is either— but I do know that the 400 block is a problem and that’s why they use the 350 block with 400 crank to get those extra inches. The 400s are too prone to overheating- not a fairy tale, I personally know 3 that it happened to.

The Summit page incorrectly says that 350 he was looking at needs a serpentine belt system...it doesnt...I just read the responses on Summit re the serpentine system,,,,m at Summit made a woopsy in a response.
The 383 I recommended is a full long block...sure it needs dressing... But who would install a new engine without replacing water pump and new distributor with correct gear for roller cam... ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by AussieinNC; 07-13-2018 at 04:35 PM. |
