Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
A bit late, but since I just got an email from SMS, here's the sale ad...
I'll repost over in the PromoCodes thread too. As '68350' noted, it isn't often they run sales...

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
======================
UPDATE 5/12/20: Just to let everyone know. I received an email from SMS earlier today, they are offering to make a new set of covers. Needless to say I am very pleased "Kevin We will make the new set of covers for you correctly, if you send back the original set we made we will fix them for you. Thanks Kim" ====================== I'm posting this for those who may be ordering fabric seat covers from SMS. Pay attention to the direction the 'diamond' pattern runs in the upholstery you receive. I was wondering about the upholstery I had received (a while back) from SMS for my 50th, and can confirm (sadly) the fabric pattern is running 'up-down', when it should run 'side-to-side'. Noting here, I did (earlier today) reach out to SMS to bring this to their attention. Primarily since I just ordered the FAWN, but also regarding the 50th upholstery I already received. I even mentioned that I was aware others may be ordering their upholstery at this time to further raise the concern. Hopefully this will avoid the issue for others. Once I do hear back from SMS, I will edit this post with update... Kevin Incorrect: up-down (my 50th upholstery received from SMS Correct: Side-to-Side (not my photo) An original seat for reference: (not my photo)

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
Those photo'd in your post (#8) above are correct.
The diamond pattern runs side-to-side, which is how the original seats were.

Needless to say I am not at all pleased with SMS. I have emailed twice and called three times, left two messages bc no one ever picked up trying to buy a set of seat covers for my 68 Golden. Very frustrated.

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
Update. A month after ordering my 50th cover from SMS Fabrics I emailed them to follow up on the order. See if there was tracking available.
Quick response We are currently making a new roll of this cloth before we can make the covers. Will be a few months. Well I was planning to change the cover next winter.

Well maybe that’s why they have called me twice asking if I wanted to reconsider. After calling and leaving two messages as well as multiple emails to order I gave since I had no response from all attempts. I was only going to order it because of the sale since I won’t need it for a while. The first time they called I had just looked at an LS motor so I was going to put my money toward it instead of the seat cover so I told them I would just hold off. They just called me again last a couple weeks ago. I still declined.

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
On the first morning of the sale, I ordered a green cloth/vinyl ‘68 seat cover in the same pattern as the ones in these pics. I got an email saying that mine would ship out this week, but I haven’t gotten a tracking number yet.
Sounds like they did them all in one batch, so hopefully that makes it more likely they got the fabric direction right.

With regard to the email I received for pending shipment, I suspect this is going to be the Fawn covers since I know others have ordered 50th stuff and haven't heard anyone else comment on shipping. ...just to be very specific, the email I received does have a tracking #, however just that a shipping label was created and a shipment is "pending" (not yet actually shipped). Either way, this is good news, I'll update as I hear more.

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
Hey Gerhard, I’m risking rudely bursting your bubble, but am I seeing that the fabric pattern on your new cover is turned 90° from the original?

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Seat Covers
Jeff, yeah they nailed the color better than my camera can. I’m very pleased. I’m still working on a dash pad, trying to have one made in the factory-original med. green. If I can’t get that done, I might settle for an aqua dash pad.
