I do get it figured out, after reading the previous posts. Thx for all the help though.

Re: Tie rod and steering linkage
I believe a front sway bar does help a 1/2 ton truck with stock springs feel better in town or on the highway. I used a homemade setup to install a front bar from a square body truck into mine years ago. Last summer I replaced it with a stock bar that I removed from a GMC Panel. Both bars make a noticeable difference. If I were junkyard scrounging for a bar I'd start with a YJ Jeep. I did some quick measuring last summer and I believe the YJ bar(s) could be installed fairly easily.

Re: Tie rod and steering linkage
looks very much like my AD. the only other thing to think about is if you have a dropped I beam, the tie rod needs to mount UNDER the spindle arms. otherwise the tie rod will inter fear with the springs.
And yes, sway bars help alot. Ive got both front & rear. Doesnt handle like my Grand Cherokee, but the difference is noticable.

Re: Tie rod and steering linkage
G&R's57GMC photo of the right spindle shows the spacer at the top.
A design difference between TF and earlier trucks. Looking at the photo of my spindle I posted earlier in the thread That has 54 car backing plates I have spacers top and bottom. I know I had to make one set or the other when I did the swap. That is a 54 3100 axle.
