My old 69 C-10 Duramax
Here is a few pics of my 69 my Dad bought new. A few mods including an LGH Duramax out of a 2011 ambulance with LBZ injectors and controls with a billet Diesel Addiction six speed Allison with Suncoast parts and10.5 AAM rear with 3.23 gears and locker with 5/8 wheel studs. 200 over S&S injectors, S&S 12mm pump, Stainless Diesel five blade 475 turbo, ARP head studs, Profab manifolds and up pipes, some Wagler head work and alter fire cam, and lots of powdercoating. Budnik 8.5-20 and 12-20's, bed floor raised 4"and boxes widened, stake pockets filled, hidden 2" receiver, Wilwood disc on each corner with double adjustable coilovers, Vintage Air, bolt in rollcage with grade 8 stainless fasteners, leather bench with houndstooth inserts, and 3.5" dual stainless exhaust. Sorry for the long post. My Dad got to ride in it a while back, he's 94 now, but wouldn't drive it. He gave $2820.00 for it new. Thanks.

Re: My old 69 C-10 Duramax
Very nice truck.........but I find it even more noteworthy that your dad is still kicking at 94yo....you are fortunate to come from such a genepool. The things your dad has seen in his lifetime......just amazing!

Re: My old 69 C-10 Duramax
Thanks guys. I am fortunate to have my Dad around at his age. He worked this truck until the 400 turbo gave up and I had it fixed and drove it a lot. It had a mixture of gas from the leaking gas cap and tobacco spit all down the driver's bed side. I haven't dynoed it yet but I plan to as well as drag racing it. My plan is to pull a trailer with my slicks and jack on it with my golfcart and change them at the track and drive it home. That big single hits pretty hard and causes my rear tires to live a rough life. It is a blast to drive and has five tunes to choose from . I put a Spa gauge in the hole where the cigarette lighter was that monitor the boost and exhaust temp. 40lbs or so of boost and egt at full throttle of 1100 or so. Dad served in Germany and they gave up as soon as he got there, and he lived through the Depression as sharecroppers with eight more siblings and no Father. He shows up at work every day and can give instructions from his Silverado like no other. I put this truck together as a tribute to him and his hard work. I will post a few more pics sometime as well as a video I tried to post. I have two more 72's with shortbed and factory big blocks, but this one is by far my favorite. The other two are white also and restored.

Re: My old 69 C-10 Duramax
Don't see that every day! I know next to nothing about diesels. V-8? What's the displacement?
I noticed the Nova on the lift. 1970? Which engine/trans? I had a brand new Forest Green 1970 with a 350 4-speed.

Re: My old 69 C-10 Duramax
A Duramax is a 403, and I used a 400 badge on the side instead of the 350 that came on it. I have some build pics, and I'll hunt them up. That is a 70 SS Nova my brother bought new, but doesn't have the original 350-300hp engine because he slung a rod through the block in a race car. It has a 400 small block with a few goodies and the original m-21 that came in it that went through three rough teen age boys, including me. I tried my best to make that Duramax look like it came in that old truck, no chrome, Chevy orange block, etc. The ecm and tcm are under the bench seat, that I had to use to haul extra grandchildren. It weighs 4760#. It doesn't have a bcm, which was a pain to get wired. It is somewhat easier to swap in the late model steering column as it simplifies things, but I wanted it to be as original as possible. I can remove the side bars on the cage for the street, and I have to order my harness for the track, which I can hide behind the seat. I appreciate everyone's comments.
