Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
Let me be up front with you guys now, I do not own this truck. It was bought to me for AC repair by an owner who was partners with Ron Divine of BK Racing. Google or Youtube it. Partnership dissolved, Ron owed him $$$ and gave him this truck instead.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
You can post five pictures in a thread, but you have to upload one at a time first.
Is there any mention of tire size at all on the SPID? The hubcaps would be chrome. There were only dog dich caps for 8-luggers, chrome or painted, and the CST came with chrome. What does it have for a spare. Often times the spare is an original, or at least mounted on the original wheel. The truck could have 16" or 16.5". That sure is a great truck you have there!

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
Standard 69 C20 wheel size is 16.5 x 6 with 8.75-16.5 tires. Optional widths were 6.75 abd 8.25. 16" wheel also available with 7.50 or 6.50-16 tire.
Tim I'm not following the load the one at a time note - I've never clicked upload more than the one final time, regardless of number of pictures (up to 5). Can you elaborate? I may not be familiar with that, curious. |

I have an original tag connection and obtained these for the new owner. He was elated. And they are truck tags to boot.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
This is what I need to know guys! Why I'm here! I have scoured over original 69 brochures, factory photo's online, etc. I have seen white painted wheels with FULL hubcaps, silver painted wheels with s/s dog dish, and two other types of dog dish. What should this 69 C20, CST have?

Obviously white painted steel wheels against black does not look good, IMO. If it were mine I would have argent painted wheels and those s/s 12" dog dish caps with the blue bowtie just like the one on the forward hood.

Hmmmm, Am I looking at white painted steel wheels with aluminum dog dish? The blue bowtie makes sense matching the one on forward hood.

Question can you tell if that is a CST package? I ask because no chrome bumpers.

And would the CST package dictate wheel color and center cap type?

Very nice and thanks for sharing. The snorkel on the air cleaner looks shorter than my 69 396 C20. I'm no expert by any means though.

Re: 1969 C20, CST. 396, 21,000 mile documented Survivor
you beat me to it Joe - and although difficult to tell with the small pics when I blow them up a bit, they appear to be mounted too far fwd for a stock 71-72 mount location. If there are no original mirror holes on the doors present (I can't tell in the pics) then it is an indication of a repaint. Went on a fishing expedition for 72-only vent window dimples, but none of the pics capture that area clearly enough.
Dmoore, we'll be a lot more help when you get a chance to post the SPID and maybe figure out how to post some larger overall pictures (I realize you don't have the truck handy at the moment, but when it shows up, that'd be very helpful). Very sharp and very interesting truck you've shared, looking forward to more! |

I was referring to the photo example posted. Mine of course has chrome bumpers front & rear with front bumper guards as well. But I understand your point.

That's a beautiful truck. I'm sure the new owner will be quite pleased.
On your pictures, when adding 5 pictures to your post, you have to hit the upload button 5 times (1 time for each picture). Once you have all 5 pictures uploaded you can either hit preview post to make sure they showed up or submit reply
