KILEY - 406 I was referring to was built in the summer of 1990 and is still daily driven today. It was pulled from our van and sold to a friend who put it in his 84 3/4 ton 4x4, and it is still there. We sold it in 1995 with about 70,000 miles and last I heard it had 158,000 but that was a couple of years ago. As stated earlier - If built right they last as good as any other engine.

I tow this 22 footer with my burb. It is rated at 3200 lbs empty. The burb does all right, but I would like a little more umph in the mountains.

I vote for the your carzy pulling that trailer behind your K5. I would want a suburban with rear leafs or coils with air bag helpers. Or possibly a dually, cuz then you would have less side to side movement from what i hear. Maybe build a dually crew cab.
![]() ![]() ![]() My parents pulled a 26 foot reg ole travel trailer with a 95 454 suburban. It had the power but its also way newer. The trailer was like 6-7000 empty and 7-8 loaded. If you really want to get a good puller, get something with a diesel. My bro in law has an 02 F250 with the PSD. I pulled his 29 foot toy hauler empty (i think its 29 feet), I didnt even know it was there. My dad was yelling at me telling me to slow down. ![]() Either way, I say electric trailer brakes over surge.
