Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
My present truck found on Craigslist in South Dakota in 2014 ,900 miles away, and bought it in 2014 for 9800..US dollars and by the time I paid exchange taxes and the expense of going to get it cost around 12,500 all in. Original rust free 72 Custom Deluxe non package Highlander truck with 350 and auto trans and factory working A/C. I've transformed the truck to my liking and kept the original classic lines in and out.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
Bought my 69 in 2009 for around $3,000 in Saskatoon SK
Had a 67 Stepside that I bought in 1992 for $3,000. Sold it to a guy in 1995 for a tidy profit who ended up marring my sister and he still has it (and her).

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my 72 in 1999 for 2200.00 with adding my labor to date I would guess close to 45K. The 71 we bought last in January for 1800.00 and I would guess we are close to 6K into it now and still climbing.

Well, if ''WMA'' means White Male American in Dragnet's police code, then WMB must mean White Male Brit.

September 1989. Rust free and mostly intact 1971 SWB 402 Deluxe with AC - $2800. I'm the second owner with a small dealership between us. It was special ordered new locally, by COD garage. Personally I have a load of history in the area where I bought it 2nd hand. Including 2-3 paper routes, my ex worked there 15 years, and my first and greatest crush was another. Had my all time favorite ice cream stop, and my all-time favourite job would be next door. RIP my parents rest there. So of course the truck's my favorite vehicle.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
Bought my 1969 C10 LWB in 1989 for $2600 at a "we tote the note" lot in the northeast Fort Worth area.
307/TH350, upper and lower side trim, white front bumper, dealer-installed painted rear bumper, no A/C or power anything. Originally sold in Electra, TX.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
68 C10 Custom Trim (formerly a LWB)
Bought July 14th 2019 I paid $6000 for my 68. It was a complete rust free original paint truck from So Cal that had just moved up to the Portland area right before I bought it. Had a brand new rebuilt 350 that replaced the 292 I6. Had a brand new power steering kit, a ECE 2/4 drop kit, new rally wheels and white letter T/A's, new vinyl and tweed seat cover and door panels. The windshield or rain gutter seal failed and that then turned into a full frame off restoration to the short box it is now.

I’ll step in to solve the mystery…Working Man’s Burban. HO455 has documented so much of his work on WMB in his build thread (invitation to wander over to the Suburban side) that I and many others go to it for help…plus he is always ready to give assistance when a question pops up!

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my 71 C10 in 2017 for $4,400. I had the stock SBC 350/TH350. Since then I have gone through everything mechanically (repair, replace or rebuilt). I replaced the tranny with a rebuilt 700r4 and 3.73 rear gear. The Body still looks the same today.
I am the third owner. This was a farm truck all its life until I bought it. |

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my ‘72 Suburban in November of 2017…for $13,500 in California dollars! The upside is that I only had to drive 90 miles to the high desert where it had lived it’s whole life (very little rust) and it pretty much “checked” all the boxes for me…plus the ‘89 454 had been stored in new/unused condition until 2012 when it was installed, then due to health reasons, was driven very little for a couple of years and was non-op for four more years before I bought it from the original owner. My mechanic confirmed that the engine was hardly used.

Some very nice, mostly unrestored trucks. I like them a lot!

Ever think about putting factory rims and tires back on? Not that the rallies don’t look good, just curious, given how bone stock it is otherwise.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I paid $2200 for mine, in May 1992, from another soldier that had “Too many toys”.
It’s a Medium Olive/White 70 C-10, with 350/350. I bought the truck when my daughter was 3yo, and my son was 10 weeks old (they’re 35 and 31 now), so neither one of them remember me NOT having/working on it. Any upgrades I’ve done have been Factory parts (PS, PB, Tilt, Tach, Rear slider window, etc) Currently I’m starting into the final three stages: Bodywork/Paint, finish the interior, and a Disc Brake conversion I’m leaning toward a goal of having it ready for paint by Fall, and then take the Winter to finish the interior, so that it’s ready to hit the road in the Spring. |

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
Our 69 CST 10, it has brought some youth back into my life, we replaced the factory exhaust with a true duel system, replaced the rear drums and shoes, fixed every fluid leak. We plan to install power steering and brakes with disks on the front soon.
Cost was a bunch more than I expected but it's very solid and limited body issues. |

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
In 1998 I bought mine in Los Angeles for $3500 and drove it home to Albuquerque. The muffler was a bit rusted and the A/C needed to be recharged.
